Can't remember how many evenings I spent drawing this. It seems I will always see pikes and blue uniforms in my future nightmares. How many men can you draw per time? Three? Five? Now imagine that you draw these three or five men, but there's still two companies to draw. Next time you draw next three men, but the number of companies do not reduce. Despite the difficulties, it was funny to draw this.

Once I saw a friend's photo. He wore long blue jacket and blue cap. I added some brush strokes so he became to look like a Swedish officer. After that I found the book about the Northern War. I was reading it slowly sitting in the bus that runs between my home and workplace. The reading was interesting, and I decided to draw something about that War.
