In February 1944, the US Forces had concluded the campaign of the Marshall and Gilbert Islands, which ended with a victory, but paid with a heavy price in lives, especially for Tarawa.

Now they were organizing the attack plan on the Mariana Islands and Palau, the last islands before directly attacking Japan on its own soil.

With the experience gained in the previous two years, the Americans know that the Japanese will defend the archipelago to the death, and they worry that they will prepare attacks from wherever they can do it, from the sea, from the air, and from land.

A small island raised slight doubts about its use by the enemy, but not wanting to use any military corps for the capture, they took into consideration various plans, they finally decided to create two specific divisions for the conquest of that island, with the support of a small support fleet.

the selection fell on the most disparate characters, who were asked to enlist to achieve this objective.
