A closer shot of the Bald Eagle from a while back. I quite like this one - I find white birds very difficult to get differentiation between the feathers - the trick I think is to shoot them a little bit dark because then the bright whiteness almost shines through.Related content

yeah you really do need at least 200-300mm to do wildlife stuff - otherwise they're just too far away.

absolutely - i use EOS 400D. Body's not so important - it's the lenses.

yeah - canon is very good. Personally, I prefer Sigma equivalent:

Its same spec., but higher glass quality in the lens. Sigma also generally cheaper than Canon, and not really paying for much extra with the canon - Image Stabilisation is over-rated and doesn't make much difference if you use one of these:

hum... I'm not going to say that I actually have now quited from that canon but certainly I'm no longer sure of what my by will be. if you say sigma is better I tottally belive you, I guess I'll have to figure out a way of trying them out...if I can't I'll most probably follow your opinion.

as i say that's just my preference. Overall I think they are about the same in terms of quality - good and bad things about each, but in that case you might as well get the cheaper one. (maybe I take this attitude because I'm a student with no money so have to do things on the cheap!)
