Description A closer shot of the Bald Eagle from a while back. I quite like this one - I find white birds very difficult to get differentiation between the feathers - the trick I think is to shoot them a little bit dark because then the bright whiteness almost shines through.

Hi, I would like to let you know that I have used this picture in a photo manipulation assignment.. you will be correctly referenced and credits to the beak will go to you. The work will not be used for profit in anyway. Please tell me if you do not want me to use your work. Thanks!

no worries - though i'd prefer to be asked before you do it.

thanks for letting me know though - i generally don't have a problem with it unless i catch someone trying to sell my photos

Sorry, it was a last minute thing.. but I assure you it was only for school work, not trying to sell anything

This is so iconic, also the other photo you have of the eagle...maybe they just come this way it just blasts images of an american patriotic fat guy with a beard riding a harley davidson

ha ha i'm glad it's not just me that thinks that. every time i see this photo i think of the "god bless america" slogans and tacky flagwaving posters that go with it

i'm flattered.

yeah you really do need at least 200-300mm to do wildlife stuff - otherwise they're just too far away.

what camera do you use?

absolutely - i use EOS 400D. Body's not so important - it's the lenses.

yeah!
I'm actually thinkin about buying this particular one -> [link] anyother sugestion? my price range for now don't go further than 500/ 600 € max, I'm quite a rookie yet so it would be foolish something more than that

yeah - canon is very good. Personally, I prefer Sigma equivalent:

Its same spec., but higher glass quality in the lens. Sigma also generally cheaper than Canon, and not really paying for much extra with the canon - Image Stabilisation is over-rated and doesn't make much difference if you use one of these:

hum... I'm not going to say that I actually have now quited from that canon but certainly I'm no longer sure of what my by will be. if you say sigma is better I tottally belive you, I guess I'll have to figure out a way of trying them out...if I can't I'll most probably follow your opinion.

once again... thank you very much!

as i say that's just my preference. Overall I think they are about the same in terms of quality - good and bad things about each, but in that case you might as well get the cheaper one. (maybe I take this attitude because I'm a student with no money so have to do things on the cheap!)

ah didn't see that - in UK there's a *BIG* difference - like £180 for the Sigma APO and £410 for the Canon - yikes!

hmm Ryanair/Easyjet cheap flight to portugal, buy canon lenses, fly back. save...about £200...Maybe that would be better than paying UK prices...
