Bio:
“You can’t truly call yourself ‘peaceful’ unless you’re capable of great violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful, you’re harmless”

Elijah Xander was once a brutal warrior, a soldier for the kingdom, the right hand man to a sadistic King.
Elijah often allowed his enemies, opponents, or victims a chance at freedom…if they could beat him. Of course he knew they wouldn’t stand a chance, but he took pleasure in this. He’d toy with the weaker ones, drawing out their defeat as painful as possible. Elijah wanted to see their spirit break. He respected those who wouldn’t beg for life or would fight until their body couldn’t, however, no one was ever to keep up that mentality with Elijah. He’d eventually break even the hardest of into humiliation.
Elijah was responsible for the deaths of so many.
A woman named Merriam was stumbled upon by Elijah in a scouting mission for a village to conquer. Elijah witnessed Merriam going out of her way to defend a helpless child against a brute of a man. She shielded the child from the blows of the man’s heavy fists. Such an act of bravery and selflessness struck something within Elijah and he sprung into action. He struck the man down, about to take his life, when Merriam stepped in front of the man, halting Elijah.
“NO! You will be no better than he!” She pleaded with her arms sprawled out.
Elijah was completely ambushed by this action from a woman who clearly was willing to die for both an innocent boy and a rot of a man.
Elijah slowly lowered his blade, struck by the not only by the events transpiring before him, but of himself. His eyes met hers and he was suddenly smaller than he’s ever been in his life. She looked immaculate, her beauty was something he could not come to find words for. The way she demanded pause in Elijah was as if she cast a spell upon him.
As if she could see into Elijah’s soul, she placed her hand on his chest, “Please” she said so peacefully and reassuring. For the first time in all his life, he dropped his sword to the ground. He was defeated from something he never once experienced, hope. Hope in light reaching the darkest depths.
Elijah began to change the more he sought time with Merriam. She knew who he was, but was not afraid. Elijah grew love for her and she gave him something that he believed didn’t exist, which was the feeling of being loved, being understood. She saw the torment within Elijah, how his childhood was loveless and how he was treated as a tool, rather than a man. Merriam was Elijah’s peace and sanctuary.
Elijah began to become more empathetic in life and grew guilt in his past actions. Merriam brought light to Elijah’s darkness. Calmed the beast.
This change was not welcomed by the ruthless King. Once the King found the reason, he captured Merriam, bringing Elijah to his knees. With a smirk, the King snapped her neck, taking all the power out from under Elijah, which made him become vulnerable to attack. Guards held him down and the King took his eyes, so he could no longer see beauty again, and chopped off his forearm, since he no longer wished to be a weapon. For his “betrayal” to the King, he was patched up and left to be blind cripple for the rest of his days, humiliated by the King for the man he once was, and left to forever stricken from the warm of love from Merriam.
As Elijah lay in the street he was left, he began to do something he never did, pray. He prayed out to whomever would listen. Begged for forgiveness and begged for the sparing of his beloved Merriam.
“Please”
Silence grew more and more deafening as Elijah slowly began to lose consciousness.
He was awakened by a voice that sounded so calming yet so commanding.
“Elijah, you have fallen so far. Perhaps this is what becomes of a man with such taint from sin. Such filth from the blood of so many. Why should such a man capable of such violence be graced by my presence?” Echoed the voice.
With all the questions in Elijah’s head on who or what is speaking to him, all he could respond back with was, “Please…for her”
—-What is Nexus?—-
In the world of man, there is suppose to be balance. Humankind is meant to fend for themselves and survive on their own. No divine intervention. That is the rule. However, rules are always broken. This led to Gods, deities, entities, Demigods, spirits, ghosts, demons, angels, and other beings to seek ways to have power over the human plane of existence. Power was always a factor in the rules being broken. How was this to be policed or controlled when it would require the rules to be broken in order to combat the ones who seek to break them? This question plagued the most powerful of celestials, the top angels, which often led to them becoming forgettable names in stories due to their absence in conflicts.
The Archangel Michael, being the most powerful and wise Angel, came up with an idea for a secret weapon, make a soul a weapon. Use the human soul as weapon in the hands of a human. Grant this soul the ability of the divine, but the presence of man. A daemon.
Michael knows angels have limited power and so do all beings beyond human. They all need a human for a medium or power source. Michael takes the medium, which is a soul, and makes the human into a tool so powerful that it is untouchable to the supernatural, but can take power over them. Michael takes that source and makes it into a being that can be a skeleton key of damage to all things. Nexus is Michael’s secret weapon. Nexus is second to the right hand of god.
Michael gathers his brothers Azrael, Samael, and Abaddon. With all their combined power and gifts, one could be a tool of balance. Michael has each of them bless a blade and armor with their power, called the Nexus armor and blade, respectively. To whichever soul Michael grants the armor and blade of Nexus to, shall be Michael’s weapon to use in destroying out of control beings too powerful for the existence of life to handle. Nexus shall be the executioner of the universe and restorer of balance. A weapon used only when needed.
But who shall be granted with this? It is not a gift nor is it a curse. It shall make the chosen immortal and be sworn to the call of balance whenever Michael calls. Only Michael has the power to stop Nexus, so Michael must choose wisely. Must be a human who understands peace, but is capable of violence. Must be someone who needs to be redeemed and thus pledge their soul to the cause. They have to be willing.
Michael may have found that soul in Elijah Xander. He shall offer Merriam’s happiness and safety in life again if Elijah offers his soul to become Nexus. Even if it means making Merriam forget she ever met Elijah.

I made this in character in Heromachine 3, but had to fix the coloring in a different app. If I went back to re-color each piece, item, and shade, it would have immensely painful as my flash program was lagging due to the amount of layers. Hopefully I can still add this to the Heromachine group.
