Thanks. I'm currently in the drafting and concept stages after going through A LOT of previous, but not very worthwhile ideas. It may be a while yet, so right now, what I'm going to be posting is a lot of pre-production stuff. Kinda like getting the DVD extras before the movie comes out!

Outta curiosity has the idea of this comic been a long term deal for you, or something that seized your interest a bit more recently?

Well, I've always wanted to write a comic. But my story lines never really panned out, or the characters were either flat or too specific. It wasn't until Penny came into my life that a character I really felt strongly about presented itself to me. Before, my characters ranged from superheros to space adventurers and pirates, but couldn't really function in other settings. Whereas Penny, being just an ordinary girl, can go on these adventures and learn as the reader does. I also had to create a world where I can have robots fighting barbarians. So to answer your question. Long in the planning, recent in the creating.

Well hey, glad you're getting a chance to do some creating then! One of the things that every artist should experience is the entertainment and pain of tackling a comic, I think. Kinda stretches the art boundaries in new ways and really makes you reconsider how you view visual media for storytelling purposes.

And, of course, makes you realize just how much of a pain it can be.

Hmm, good point on Penny being 'universal' so to speak. Everyone else can stay in their story zones, while she just drops on in for a visit. Rabid barbarian rabbit hordes from dimension X vs space robots of Slinkulon 5? I'm sold.
