Good shot of some very historic terrain. I think that's where the Flack battery was.

Don't know about the flack battle. It was the only existing bridge across the river Rhine that was found by the Allies. It was destroyed after the US Army crossed the river.

After WWI, the U.S. 42nd 'Rainbow' division marched over that bridge into Germany. Very good movie about the WWII battle called The Bridge at Remagen which shows great understanding of the German side.

Except that Robert Vaughn's poor character should have known they'd be looking for scapegoats and let himself be captured.

His character sold show how much the young people had been brainwashed by the Nazi system when I remember right. It's some years ago that I have seen the movie, so there is only some 50% left from the story in my brain

He was from an old Prussian military family--duty was his only thought. But, it did have the brainwashed Hitlerjugend getting himself and a bunch of people killed by firing from a window. Times are better, now.

It is one of the pillars of the famous bridge of Remagen which was found by the allied forces undestroyed in the WW II. It collapse after the US Armee had crossed the Rhine cause of the bombs and shootings in wartime before.
