This is the character select portrait of Balrog for the upcoming Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix game coming out on XBox Live and the Playstation network.

Well, then that's my mistake. I must have confused the "Bison being monkey" motif from another instance. But rest assured, I'm absolutely certain Bison was called a "monkey" at one time or another...

Yeah, I think the name changes suit the characters better anyways because the name for each character just fits. I mean Bison called Vega doesn't really strike me as a Vega
And to Kyu...where the hell do you get your perception on a name pertaining to a monkey, and then relating it to a black man? I mean seriously. AND THAT IS OFFENSIVE!

This just looks amazing. This game is taking wayyyy too long to come out, but I can see that the time is going towards the quality. So I will try to wait patiently.

Awesome picture of Balrog. I feel the glove towards the bottom feels a bit out of place though, I think the glove up toward his face would be better alone and a bit bigger.

Well the character is originally modeled on Mike Tyson, hence why he is known as "M. Bison" in Japan.
Here's a little info: "When Street Fighter II was localized in America, Capcom was afraid of a lawsuit from Mike Tyson over a character with his likeness and a similar sounding name (Mike Bison). Additionally, when the designers presented the game to Capcom USA's marketing department, they believed that the name Vega was a weakling's name. They decided to rotate the names of three of the four boss characters in the following manner:
The boxer is known as M. Bison in Japan and Balrog elsewhere.
The Spanish assassin/bullfighter is known as Balrog in Japan and Vega elsewhere.
The evil dictator and head of Shadaloo is known as Vega in Japan and M. Bison elsewhere."

I know this is true, but I think the rotated names suit the characters more than the original ones, which is weird. Vega does sound like a Spanish word, and sounds sort of agile and spiky in my opinion. Balrog does suit a big beast of a bloke. I'm guessing they didn't mess around with Sagat's name cos he was in the original Street Fighter game.
