According to the Capcom games, he's a First Lieutenant in SF Alpha 3 & later on, in SFII he's a Major. Just FYI.

lol, Guile was basically an attempt by Capcom to appeal to American gamers. The flattop, blue eyes, and army fatigues are the proof in the pudding.
Looking back, I'd say capcom did a perfect job of making Guile look like "The American Hero", but that's just my opinion. :/
