Rufus is SO out of stereotype for overweight people that he wound up on the Screwattack Top Ten Fat Guys list. He didn't make #1, but he was among the top five.
Personally, I say he should have made number one.

He's pretty quick for an abnormally fat person. He must be eating magical popcorn back there... e_e

despite one's girth if one is trained well he\she can achieve feats of gymnastics and flexibility, people like Boom Boom Betty, Vader Viking and Big Show of the wrestling world are quite plump but can leave people awestruck with there cartwheels and spins, even Jake Black is quick on his feet and even has decent Kung Fu skills.

great art, but god do I hate this character design!! Why does capcom do this?! Its like they said; "hey...why don't we create the most unappealing, and revolting character we can think of, and stick him with a cast of tried and true designs that have proven themselves over the years"
I dunno, some ppl might dig it, but to me Rufus is probably the worst street fighter character Ive seen in my life

Ive been thinking about his creation and I think Rufus is supposed to be a parody of the American Martial arts movies from the 60's, 70's and 80's ;Also some people think hes a parody of Tekkens Bob both obese blond Americans.
And common if a Spanish Matador,a Yogi Master,an English Butler and whatever the heck Necro is have a place in the SF universe,Rufus should be no exception.

Dudley's actually one of my fav fighters from 3rd Strike. Thinks I like his strikes.
Necro.. questionable nature, but definitely thought out and designed well.
Heck, even ORO was a commendable character design. Strange yet useful. I mean, according to that storyline, HE helps Ryu train which is beyond me. Shit's wild man~!
But this Rufus guy.. even his name bothers me.

Nothing wrong with his name, Rufus is actually a somewhat common name in Europe.Actually between Abel and Rufus they make up my favorite newcomers. But if you don't like 'im; nothing I can really do about that. BTW T.Hawk is Mexican.
