In Northfield, Minnesota. On September 7, 1876, the gang of Jesse James tried to rob the the First National Bank on the first floor at the left end of the building. Things did not turn out well for the outlaws; two members were killed by townsmen and others were captured. Only brothers Frank and Jesse James made good their escape from Minnesota, they never tried to rob another bank.
