finally uploading! i've been working on this for the past few days on and off. but i really wanted to upload something before i went on this mini turkey vacation.
it's a christmas present for someone very special to me. but i can't say who because obviously that would give away the surprise! ;> i think when i come back i'm going to try to loosen up and have some more fun with my art.
granted, i love making this kind of stuff. i think i finally found my niche really... but i miss uploading zombies and boobies and things, haha. so expect some of that when i get back! :>

okay finding this piece just made my whole friggin shit of a night about a billion times better. i really love the blue to start with, and just how beautifully the body's shaded, and yet the hair is just an outline - juxtaposition makes me the happiest chick in the world. and LOL dump ducks. they're a nice element in themselves.

*giggles* i don't have much affection for them. they're annoying as hell following my dad's lobsterboat around or harassing us on the wharf. tho it's hilarious when tourists feed 'em and then can't figure out why the damned things won't leave them alone. XD
coastal Mainers just generally aren't fond of sea gulls. sorry.

The effort shoes in the artwork though. I really love it, just leaving the hair see-through makes it even better and have more character.

This is my very favourite out of your "series"... the complimentary nature of the enticing browns and the slate blues, the mystery of the figure, the delicate rendering of fingers and toes, feathers and hair strands, are all coming together to form something that sucks the viewer in right away.
And maybe it's just me, but the touch of avant garde seems like a rare gem in an artwork of such casual symmetry.

Haha, even I am not 100% sure -- it's just a vibe of "alternativeism" that I get from this art. In general, it's because of the sharp and bold contrast between shaded and unshaded areas. Hopefully I make sense
Oh, and I may not be the biggest fan of the avant garde, but I do appreciate it in little touches here and there -- and certainly, when I said that this was, I meant it in a GOOD way. Just in case that wasn't clear. XD

I like how you left the birds and hair with no color. It really emphasizes the body nicely. And the highlights and shadows on the skin are really nice too. you did an awesome job.
