Good choice of angle here. That slight tilt gives it all a faint sense of unease, which fits the theme your title seems to be going for: something that should be familiar ground, but after being away for so long it just feels off somehow now.

Photos like this aren't my strong suit, but here goes it anyway: the cropping of the photo is what captured my attention first. It's not quite down the center of the photo, but it's at a point where it's not overbearing to look at the building and there's still something else to look at off to the side. I love the black&white aspect; the shadows aren't too strong and the highlights aren't too bright. It's perfectly balance. A nice, crisp photo.
