I'm not AT ALL content with this, but NO TIME LEFT.
there are A LOT of things I'm really unhappy with and would like to work over; I planned some light/fire where I've drawn a bit of smoke so far, I'll definitely go over the wings again, I want to improve the Background/shadow, I want to give it some better texture (at least some diversity),...
I suck at keeping deadlines... so much... ouch
I'll work over it some other time

Yeah, move on to something else, although in my opinion the volumes are done really well.
If you want to learn to reach deadlines you should start over from scratch with this very same image and try to reach the same stage you reached here in half the time, think of shortcuts and guide-lines that keep your work accurate and fast.
Generally speaking don't re-do, always start over and try to do it faster every time.

It turned out really cool! I like your texture - and yes a bit light/fire would suit well here as contrast. Love it!!
