Description
I am very proud of this one. This picture actually took me a very long time to do since I've never attempted a galaxy before and I spent a lot of time looking at reference pictures.
The Azura'T'Oris galaxy, giver of life. It is the universe where all of my stories take place. My creativity flows into this universe, and I feel like I have given it a pulse. The name "Azura'T'Oris" is a old Space-Born word that roughly translates to "Wheel with Blue Spokes", which is where it gets its other name, The Blue Wheel Galaxy. This galaxy contains all of the planets seen in my other space art.
On the more technical aspect of this picture:
It is a four-armed spiral galaxy, obviously. I always thought that spiral galaxies are just prettier then the other types. I used a combination of Photoshop versions 6 and CS2 (6 for most of the airbrushing, CS2 for some of the small details).
Prints will be available.

Stuff looks great
I'm compelled to ask: what's the pockmarks in the upper right? Gaseous debris clouds or sommat?

If you're talking about what I think you are... they're Distant Stars.

How long does it usually take to finish something like this?

Well, since my spacescapes are technically "speedpaintings", usually about 1.5-2 hours. However, this one took about 5.
