Description

Today I've been headache-ey... and fatigued... and bitchy... which meant that I was in no condition to work on art that I owe to other people. My hubby started a new game of Final Fantasy 8, so I decided to challenge myself by doing a more complex background without the use of fancy brushes and what not. I've always sucked at backgrounds, so this was definately out of my comfort zone.

My alternate Fursona, Andromeda with a Nal-Radril.

What's a Nal-Radril?!
The Nal-Radril is an alien animal species that came to me in a dream. They are descendants of our modern-day seahorses that live in the rainforest floors of planet Kalgea.

However, unlike their ancestors, they are not ocean-dwellers. They "float" on the air by filling their bellies with air. I imagine them to move like a Nautilus.... except for the fact that they can move in all directions, not just backwards.

Their long tongues are for licking the nectar out of flowers. Like bees and birds, they are important to the ecosystem because they polinate flowers.

They would make good pets except for the fact that they cannot survive outside of the atmosphere of their rainforest home. Because of this they are exceptionally hard to even keep in zoos.

And on a random side note.... since I KNOW someone is going to say something along these lines...
No, there is no avatar inspiration here. It's mostly based on Felucia from the Star Wars universe!
