I hadn't planned on making any new character references for a while. In fact, my plans were to (finally) start on my Theran gods series, but I was planning on submitting this character for the next round of the Anthro Sketch Xchange and needed ref pictures of her for that.

This character has been mulling around in my head for the past six months or so but I haven't put her down on paper until now. I really think that full avians are really underdone in the anthro world... heck, even I only have two full avian characters. I decided to change that by making a third.

I wanted to avoid creating a bird of prey or a corvid because most of the avians in the furry fandom seem to be of one of those two species. I decided on a quetzal because they're a somewhat obscure species of bird and I've never seen an anthro quetzal before.

Plus quetzals just rock.
