I still don't know Starlight's character that well, but looking at this picture, I could guess that "beginning of the end" refers to the beginning of the end of her life. It's the realization that she's been fatally wounded and although she's not dead yet, she can do nothing but lie there and wait for the inevitable. That's why she has the tears in her eyes...she knows it's coming and that there's nothing she can do to stop it.
