Description
A pregnant witch waiting for her love to come and take her away.Witches are a matriarchal community as there are no male equivalent for witches due to reasons(there has been, though). They derive their powers from unity among the society and that's why they dwell upon their own lands and have their own laws.
To produce offspring they basically go and get themselves pregnant at some point. Soldiers are the easiest victims and they are usually warned of the witches because if it so happens that the witch gets pregnant and does not give birth to a girl then the kid will be given to the father or otherwise given away because men don't have the potential for the powers. Men aren't often even allowed inside smaller witch communities.
This particular witch, though, I think, is in love and has decided to move out of the community to marry the father of the child and go live with him as a pseudo-witch. This does happen often too. Witches may sound very irresponsible and all but they aren't.

Gorgeous! I love the drawing and I love the back story. She looks so happy to be pregnant. i love the gentle swell of her belly. It's beautiful.

Thank you so much. I tried to give her serenity in her expression and posture to depict the happiness, which she has : D

I liked the backstory that you wrote for her quite a bit. Also, it's not very often that you see more subtle pregnant art, where the character isn't massively pregnant. It's nice to see that some artists take the less obvious route, it makes for a nice change of pace. And I think that you did a very good job with the details on her, I know that that can be hard to pull off with pencils. Great job!

Hee, thank you so much! : D this work was on my mind quite a long ago but I only recently got to draw it even though I grew keen on the image I had in my head. I also had the time to polish the story in that time :'D
It was a bit tricky to do the details with pencil and I wasted quite a bit of lead on my mechanical pencil trying to have it sharp at all times :I Personally, though, I think that pencil is my thing : )
Thanks again!

You're welcome! And I sympathize with you on the pencil thing. I started off only drawing in pencil, and even though I loved it, I would always smudge the crap out of my drawings because I'm left-handed. That's part of why I pretty much only use pencils for the line-art these days. And you're welcome again!

Yes, the smudging thing is really annoying especially since I have really shaky hands anyway so I have to steady my hand by leaning it on the paper and all : I
