I love drawing Gemile in a modern maid outfit. Because of my background, I guess, I see maids as humble, hardworking and maternal figures.
Also, I attribute Martin’s expression in the second panel to a baby orphan in my church orphanage in South Africa when I was a kid. I don’t actually remember his real name because everyone called him Monkey since he would cling to everything, including yourself. You could almost let go of him and he would hold on. (Also inspired the comic where Martin clings to his step dad.) he was so cute, and when he cried he had this rubbery pink bottom lip that would peel back like a glistening internal organ... or.. something. But his laugh was extra cute. It sounded like a soft sneeze.

I can’t. It’s more a metaphor for the general conflict, and the end of the story isn’t really about who wins over who.

I’m glad you think he looks handsome. he’s the product of a union between a very handsome couple, so this is me actually making an attempt at drawing a generically goodlooking male.

I still prefer Basil. He is an average, reliable guy who looks good, and I value that more than a handsome Casanova. But on this drawing Geldall radiates the aura of a heart-breaker main character guy of a romantic story, who will change out of his womanizing ways because he falls in love with the Plain Jane main character woman. And I love romantic stories.

Ja!😄 I guess he does follow that spirit! I mean obviously their relationship will not exactly be romantic when she’s a child😅, (this isn’t some creepy loli anime). He’s also not really a Casanova, just typical teenage boy who’s reacting in the natural way to being popular with girls. But I was thinking that he would start to grow up and take responsibility for her after all she and her people have had to sacrifice because of his father, and appreciating how hard she tries. Maybe a sort of big brother paternal instinct will make him want to better himself for her sake, and he realises that maybe, when he does get married, it doesn’t have to be a miserable thing. At least that’s what I’m thinking. Of course right now he’s not as honourable a man as Basil❤️. He and Gemile are having the real central romantic plot.

Yeah, nothing beats BasilxGemile, but to be honest, Geldall is starting to become an interesting character on his own too. It's a good thing I guess, that the princess had to live with them at such a young age, because maybe it's easier for Geldall to develop friendly feelings towards a child, rather than a sexy adult lady he was expecting. And friendship is the base of every good marriage. Even if the burning love and the pink glasses are gone with time, you are still with a friend, instead of having nothing.
