That's advertising, which I would understand being spam. But llama badges are gifts. Most people are happy when they receive a llama. I don't fully understand why giving gifts to multiple people is considered spam :v

Deviantart created llamas as a fun thing to give and trade. A lot of people on deviantart enjoy giving people llamas, and those people also enjoy receiving llamas. I mean, isn't giving something to someone considered a gift?

What bothers me about them is that llamas don't really mean anything, they're literally meant to be sent to people for no reason. They have no real value, they don't contribute with anything.. etc. it's pointless, and people who's fame is because of another version of subconscious advertisement is wrong.

You aren't seeing this correctly. Llamas are given as a symbol of a gift, and the more llamas you have, the higher of a level you seem. For example, it's kind of like giving someone a thumbs up-- for liking their page and their art. another way to do this is to watch them. Llamas are a little joke for deviant art as a community to share, not to accuse or spam people with.
