You roll my eyes for what seems like the hundredth time as Sam makes yet another pun about Cybertronians or vehicles. He’d recently bought a book and thought that it was the best thing in the world. To be honest, I was ready to strangle him.

“Oh! Oh! Listen; what do you call a car salesman?” He says, a goofy grin on his face as he tries not to laugh at the answer on the page.

Bumble bee made a sound of exasperated disappointment.

“A Car-deal-ologist!” Sam laughed, as if it was the greatest joke in the world. You groan from the drivers’ seat and rest your head on the steering wheel.

“You’re driving me crazy!” Comes your retort, the semi-unintentional pun just sent him into another fit of laughter and you immediately regret your choice of words, and scoff as Sam praises you on your joke. Bee turns on the radio, blaring a rock song that immediately silenced the puns and horrible jokes.

“Bee? Where are we going anyway?” You sigh. “We’ve been driving for hours an’ I need to pee.”

“Optimus prime- has- called a- meeting for the- auto- bots.” Replied the yellow mech, putting radio clips together. “Important.”

You frown. “Important?”

“No other- detail.” Bee said. “We’ll find- out soon.”

Sam furrowed his brow, all traces of the joking around gone. “Wait, is there a problem?”

“Bee just said he doesn’t know,” You snap. Get some better working ears, dipshit.”

Sam huffed, used to the verbal lashings you usually gave, and slumped in his seat. “I just want to know if I have to save the world again or not.”

You sizzle with anger. “You barely did anything! I did more than you.”

“Who got the medal?”

“I melted yours into a replica of the allspark,” You snarl, smirking quietly when he sat up with a panicked look. Priceless.

“Calm down- love,” Bee said, making a noise close to laughter. “We all- know how much- more you- did than him. No need- for a medal.”

A quick smile of reassurance flit across your face, Bee was always the one to take your side. After all, you weren’t the one who tried abandoning him before going to college.

“Hey! I had to, freshmen weren’t allowed cars!” Sam said indignantly. Oops, looks like you were thinking aloud again. Another chuckle escapes you, just as Bumblebee turns into his destination.

It was a run-down warehouse that had been completely gutted out, save the walls, ceiling, and few platforms that were probably meant for you and Sam, being the only humans that accompanied the bots anymore. Sam had broken up- again.

The yellow Camaro rolled to a stop and let you and Sam out before transforming. Immediately, you scrambled up the stairs to the platform and stood before the Prime himself, who was standing with the rest of the team.

“Optimus? What’s this about?” You ask. Last time he called a meeting in such a secluded place, it wasn’t good news.

“Earth is in trouble again. And this time, we might not be able to save it.”

The words sent chills down your spine. This was bad news, indeed.
