I don't know, it almost seemed that Blossom forced Buttercup to give up her blanket.Related content

As much as I like this episode, even I thought the ending was unfair to Buttercup.

Honestly? No. No, I don't. She's a five-year-old girl(and one that seems to be experiencing some insecurities at that), let her have this for fuck's sake!

What, would the Professor use it as a cleaning rag in the lab?

no she shouldn't have to give up her blanket. She's 5 for goodness sake, why force her to grow up so fast. I thought it was cute that she had a blanket, it like Bubbles and her Octi. Plus I really didn't like blossom during this episode.

While I was fine with this episode back when I was younger, looking-back on it honestly makes it feel like Buttercup(who, again, is a fucking five-year-old) being both mocked and made to look like a crazy weirdo just for having a security blanket(sure, the writers might've intended something different, but intent rarely means much in regards to judging the final product).
Now, while I'd like to say that I wish the episode had been structured a bit more like "Bubblevision" and/or "The Mane Event," neither episode had come-out yet(from what I can tell, anyway). However, I do believe that this episode could've been written a bit better than how it ultimately turned-out.
For example: they could've used this episode to explore Buttercup's more vulnerable side and the insecurities she experiences that would facilitate the need for a security blanket(thus giving her character some much-needed depth in-universe), while the episode also portrays Blossom and Bubbles teasing her to be a bad thing(even having a scene where she calls them out for it and basically says "this is why I never told you about this!").
Also, after getting her ass kicked by the monster without her blanket and inevitably flying home to sulk(because Blossom's little "trick Buttercup with a fake blanket" trick doesn't really make any sense when you actually think about it), Buttercup really should've gotten one of those heartwarming Professor pep-talks(whom helps her learn the obvious Aesop that her strength/fighting ability comes from within and not her blanket).
Finally, for a bit of levity, I would've liked there to be an ending scene where Blossom's alone and using her bow to do the same affirmations thing Buttercup had been doing(I can just hear her murmuring "I am a good leader, I am a good leader, I am a good leader").

First of all, I don't know what's so special that blanket has for Buttercup and
Blossom & Bubbles are unlikable jerks in this episode especially with their menacing
glances at the end.

I just realized it says "Buttersup".
(Didn't mean to comment that multiple times, whoops)

I really liked this episode because it was the only one where I liked Buttercup more than Blossom.

I liked this one too. It shows us the childish side of the girls (well, Buttercup at least), a side that creates a nice contrast with their superhero side.
