OC: Militant Hayate and Commander Diether.------------------------------------------
Diether: Just perfect. Trapped in the middle of nowhere with you.
Hayate: Not enjoying your vacations, Diether?
Diether: Vacations?! There is no food, no water and no way to communicate with the rest. These are the worst vacations ever.
Hayate: Yeah, isn't it exciting?
Diether: …I knew that ridiculous thing couldn't fly. Rebel Witchcraft.
Hayate: Be patient.
Diether: I am going to die surrounded by nothingness. And the mission is going to start soon! And who is going to watch Kajei?
Hayate: Don't be silly. I know this place really well… And I will carry you over my shoulder if needed. Okay?

Hayate thought that Diether could do with getting some fresh air after being locked in prison.
Diether getting upset because there is nothing he can do. He can't help. And he is melting in the desert he is not used to be in.
This is one of the few times he is seen around with scars since he couldn't get treated in the hospital. Working with the Rebels means you lose some privileges.

Haha, good luck Hayate, you will need it if your crap machine really stops working entirely and you have to drag poor Diether through the entire desert XD And I also bet his sense for orientation isn't too well either, is it?

He pilots a very old plane for their time. Like 1950 aircraft. Haven't decided on a specific one yet. He does keep a lot of them. That plane is at least 50 years old.
It's good when there is no sandstorm.
He has a lot of good luck and he knows the desert too.

Hayate has no need to worry. He is in familiar terrain. He means it when he says he could carry Diether back to civilization. And the poor Diether is just melting away.

Also I like how he is worried about Kajei getting himself killed when he is not around.
Does Kajei have a knack for getting into trouble, I wonder.

He is and will always be worried about Kajei.
He gets into trouble for being too nice. He avoids seriously injuring enemies. Leaves himself open for attacks. He gets better as time goes on.
But Diether still sees the smol innocent Kajei.

With the way you colored and blurred it, it really looks like it's hella scorching hot in there ;v;
And you can tell Hayate is not bothered at all if he can withstand the heat with a black turtleneck on.
