Valerian "Val" of Avalon, youngest son of Oberon and Titania.

In the year 1859, human calender, Oberon, the almighty king of the Realm of Fairy, made the momentous choice of tearing down the borders between his world and the human one to claim territory for his people. Their world grew smaller by the day due to humans forgetting about them or at least starting to disbelieve in fairy tales, weaking the magic of Fairy.
From his island of Avalon, located in the North Sea, he launched an attack on Europe, even though his wife Titania opposed the idea.
After years of war the Fairy succumbed to the humans with their mighty, steam driven war machines. Oberon fell into an eternal slumber and his wife disappeared, after two of their sons died in the last huge battle which ended the war. Valerian however fled and deserted his people and his family out of fear and selfishness.
The island of Avalon was then claimed by the humans and became part of Europe, divided into pieces between the winning nations, the biggest part held by England.
In the years to come the magical community fused with the humans, mixed children were born and while there were still resentments, especially against the "pointy ears" who resembled the hated Oberon, trolls, fairies, gnomes and other magical creatures became a normal part of life in London of the year 1876, just as normal as airships, steam powered robots and thick smog produced by the factories. Queen Victoria even had Fairies at her court, mostly though as servants.
Val left his past behind to make a living as a thief, fence and swaggerer, spending his nights at the taverns, seducing men and women alike with his good looks and charming rogue personality.
But he had to learn soon that you cannot run from your past forever...

Steampunk/Fantasy character for a story of and me. A quick work since university practically sucked up my life the past week. Still have to get a lot of stuff done before the going gets a bit more smoothly.
(yes, he resembles Ian Somerhalder, I used a morph that's based on him )
