The Sharingan-obsessed friend I drew [link] for asked for something else involving Kakashi & Itachi - so their ANBU days seemed like an interesting choice for an anime .... Shizune's going to make up their third team slot for Itachi's first ANBU mission (and of course Kakashi's going to have to adjust to the fact that this little Uchiha kid isn't remotely like Obito...)
I'll confess that Shizune's got rather a lot of screen time in my storyboard so far.... there's something just so cool about her needle-spitting ninjutsu

(it might sound funny, but I also have an idea in my head about Shizune and Kakashi's youth (I just can't leave the idea that they are the same age) - though, I wanted to make a story about them and Gai - and about earlier time.)

Your story sounds interesting - Shizune's dedication to helping Tsunade out makes her an interesting character, while Kakashi's a caring person in a very different way but is much more of a loner ... and of course both of them are some of those few Naruto characters who have no interest in telling anybody else about their past... O_o
