Description
The Puma might need some finishing touches on the seams but I'm glad to say that the last of the gluing is done. I'm content with how it turned out as there were some problems with a few parts of it but I'm just glad it's complete. The backs of my hands are in pretty bad shape from causes unrelated to the build, but it made finishing difficult.Related content

Yes! It has been a while since I've seen paper mech models! Brings me back to the days when I used to make my mechwarrior 2 paper models. May I say, I really like the shadowcat and how it's not just facing straight but to one side. Really makes it look sharp! Did you just glue it that way, or did you use something to give it the ability to rotate?

Thanks! I built the torso and pelvis/legs separately then modeled and built a joint that would allow the Shadow Cat to connect while facing backwards and lock while facing forwards, left, or right. Due to how loose the socket is by design (though not too loose), it has full range of movement with the hips being the only limitation. I plan on using the same joint in future builds for more dynamic posing.
I just took a look at your profile, and if I'm not mistaken, you must be the same Stingray from the MWO forums. I love how you made your Marauder (11.8in) and your Stone Rhino (10 in) and hope to add them to the collection once I get my workshop reworked. I had no idea that you were on DA, lol. I have a rather long list of 'mechs that I want to sit around this room and plenty of space to work with so you can definitely count on seeing more

Oh yes! I am indeed that same person! Yup, I have DA. I'm not on here quite so much. Most of my time is spent on my Youtube channel with my Minecraft machinimas, but every now and then I do some Mechwarrior art stuff. I'm glad you liked that! I remember back in the day it took a long time to put all those models together. I never did finish with all of them, maybe someday I will. There's like 20 mechs I still didn't get to.
That's cool how you did the movement! I was cheap with mine and just glued a pencil to the bottom torso and poked a hole in the top torso.

Oh, you bet! I just subscribed to your channel. I like a good Minecraft vid, lol. I've been using preexisting textures for my Ragnarok and will probably be going the same route with other 'mechs. There's nothing wrong with using a pencil, lol, and there's always time to go back to the old stuff. I'm a fan of your work and love how you paint your figures. I look forward to building your Marauder when the rearranging is complete. Right now, I can barely walk in here, lol. I'll be adding a few shelves and possibly some new hardware to make building things easier. I don't plan on stopping. I've been a huge 'mech fan since my first game, G-Nome. It led me to MechWarrior which solidified my interest in enormous walking war machines, especially the slower ones. I am, of course, a fan of Chromehounds, Armored Core, and Gundam too.

Oh thanks! Hope you'll like the future content!
Yeah, I've been a fan of Mechwarrior since '95 when I first played mechwarrior 2:31st. That kind of figures why I prefer those models, they're just so nostalgic!

My MechWarrior 2 disc is sitting less than six feet away from me right next to my Windows 98 Desktop. The PC is named Thanatos after the 'mech, and an iteration of death, and I revived it just to play the old game with the best stick and throttle setup I have. The MechWarrior 3 designs are the most nostalgic for me because I spent the most time on them in my earlier years but I love the MechWarrior 2 art style. Nothing beats the look of the MechWarrior 4 Atlas (non-MekTek version) though.

Yeah!!! Cool! I still play mechwarrior 2 on my windows 7. I also play mechwarrior 4, and I actually started making mechwarrior 4 machinimas!: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKuBMC…
They're really quite fun! I think I should delve into mechwarrior 2 machinimas.

Heh, my bet was on the Mad Cat. It's very solid with a balanced loadout versus central heating, lol.

Thanks! That means a lot, coming from such an esteemed modeler/craft as yourself. I've studied several of your builds and models and they've been quite an inspiration. The Puma/Adder had some issues with the pieces meeting up at odd angles for hot glue, giving it a bit of an odd appearance. It almost looks as though it's about to take a step forward on its right foot. The Shadow Cat is connected to its pelvis with a joint that I modeled myself. It made more sense to do it that way as the other available joints wouldn't have worked as well.
Once I get my workshop put back together, a process that I hope to finish in the next two or three days, I'm going to be working on a few things that I've wanted to do for a long time. My Ragnarok model is slowly being converted into a Pep friendly build and I have my sights set on a number of other 'mechs that I want to model and build. Time management isn't my strong suit as I usually end up doing many things, sometimes trying to do everything, at once. Expect a lot more, lol. I've been collecting BattleTech papercraft models for many years and have been itching to build them ever since I found them. It has only recently been made possible by the setup of my work room.
