One part Egyptian, one part Hindu, and one part Steven Universe.

The style of the pyramid mural was the only way I could see this in my head, so that's how I ended up drawing it.

Anyway, this is part of the Creation Myth for the universe of my story The Demon's Seal, inspired by one of the weeks of my Classical Mythology course. I thought I should finally get to the story of the beginning, plus I talked about it in my Academic Journal and decided that this would be my art for it.

It depicts Dinesh (the Sun God) pushing back the primordial darkness, emptiness, and fear of The Spider Queen to make way for the creation of the world. (Fun Fact: The Spider Queen is only known by this name [and many other euphemisms] because her true name summons her, and that's bad because she'll force your worst fears upon you and kill you with your soul going to her rather than to the realm of the dead.)

It's rough, and not the beginning. There will be other panels (maybe?) and this will get cleaned up soon, when I'm not dying under these final assignments (so... next week sometime :3).

And I suppose now these two will be next on the list to be properly designed. (The Spider Queen will be so much fun, she is pure nightmare fuel :3)
