Description This is a story I'm comprising as an idea for a possible Legend of Zelda video game, and I do plan to try and send it to Nintendo in the future when I've got more of it done. This story centers around Link as well as a new childhood friend named Asphen as well as a familiar caretaker who they refer to as an uncle. Because this will be a work in progress and constantly updated whenever there is a part not done or an incomplete chapter there will be a (. . .) at the end of it to signify it's still being worked on.
In the beginning is dark, the only break in the emptiness being the soft words echoed from the distance.

"Come find me, if you can," a boy whispers, no older than ten at least.

Then the darkness fades into a meadow, the tall grasses tickling the trunks of deciduous trees that line the border into the forest, a few conifers dotting the landscape as well.

A young Link, no older than ten himself, pulls his face from a tree trunk, finishing his counting down from ten before turning to find the source of the call. The same voice goaded the young adventurer, saying, "come and get me! You'll never be able to find me! You're getting warmer," but not in that specific order. Link follows the voice into the forbidden grove, passing the warning signs that silently ordered him to stop, but had no power to force him to obey.

Link travels deep into the expanse of trees, climbing over rocks and logs, climbing over small hills he saw as mountains and exploring till he finally found the young lad crouched under a black berry bush, his raven hair giving him away as his small pony rustles in the breeze, hair only held back by a leather strap.

When the two find each other they tease, the black haired boy grumbling playfully, "awww! You caught me," before the two are caught in a fit of giggles and gentle nudges. Their merriment is cut short as an unearthly howl echoes from the distanced, and Link grasps a stick and holds it out like a blade while his friend grapples onto the man's arm with a look of distraught, fearing what may be awaiting them past those leaves and grasses beyond.

Then a voice booms across the ground, pushing away all fear and worry with it as an older male calls out, "Link! Asphen! Where are you!?" This man is obviously upset, worried and angered at the same time. The boys run to this voice, shrieking with excitement as they call out, "Uncle Robin! Uncle Robin!" leaping towards this bearded man and hugging his legs. At first the man is relieved, sighing loudly as he holds the two close, before he pushes them back and points to a sign with obvious frustration.

"You two see this sign? You both know it's too dangerous to go into the forest, what if you had been hurt?" Link and Asphen look to the ground, kicking the dirt as regret and dejection take over their features. Seeing this Robin sighs, reaching out with his hand so he could gently rub their heads, smiling at the two, "well as long as the both of you are safe it's alright, just never do that again." And with that last stern look he is ushering the children back to the village with a gentle push against their backsides.
