Description They were running constantly, inside the dense forests of the Amazon. They jumped and dived, avoiding all obstacles for they knew if they were hit by one then it was over. Unable to fly because of the dense trees overhead and the helicopters waiting. The chase was futile though, Max, Fang, Angel, and Iggy were captured, leaving Nudge and Gazzy left to complete the mission, to shut down the School. They met up at the beach and began their long fly back. When they landed, they saw what the school had become. It was much larger and more ominous, like a creepy castle standing atop a hill. It was probably five to six stories high, the walls a grey cement so that none of the sounds of tortured creatures could escape the building. The ground was devoid of all life, and no houses were built of a 10 mile radius of this cold, unwelcoming building. The clouds obscured the sky, making it look even more dark and forbearing, and thunder would flash behind, followed by the roaring thunder.  They flew over the electrified, barbed wire fence, making sure the area was free of security and cameras. They landed safely on the other side and ran near the air vent that Max had shown when stealing the blueprints. Nudge could even remember her words.

“I will explain this plan to everyone, because if anyone is to be captured, then one person will need to put this plan in motion,” Max had said, a look of hard determination in her eyes. The rest of us nodded as she would continue explain what to do.
They had to reach the large generator at the center of the building. Once they did they would shut it down. This would most likely cause a horrifying explosion so they would need to take cover as fast as possible. But if they did this correctly, the School would be shut down for good, and most of it’s workers would have perished.

They came up up to the air vent. Gazzy took out a crowbar and started pulling out the vent cover. Nudge helped and after a few minutes of pulling it finally fell out into the hard dirt. Nudge crawled inside first, waiting to hear the sound of Gazzy pulling the cover back over the vent. When he did so they crawled on, a somber silence between them. They had no words to say for this mission was of utmost importance. They had to make one stop before reaching the large generator. Nudge kicked open the vent and they both landed in a changing room. They took the robes, medical masks, and goggles, putting them on over their clothes so they could disguise themselves as workers of the School. Once that was done the flew back into the air vent and closed it up again, doing their best to leave no trace of themselves behind.
They continued to crawl through the dark, cramped vent. Gazzy would occasionally pop in a joke to cut through the silence. Nudge had guessed he found it unnerving. After an hour of crawling and joking around they finally made it to the generator room. They dropped out in a place where nobody would notice them and walked up to the metal ramp. The room was cluttered with round, igloo shaped bomb shelters along with desks, printers, papers, computers, and other equipment. There were two ramps leading up to the generator, forming a giant, rectangular “U” as they lead up to it. Between them was a huge screen and keyboard littered with thousands of different buttons. Three School workers constantly monitored it. Nudge and Gazzy guessing that the screen was a way to check on the giant generator.
And the generator. It was something of unimaginable beauty and terror. It stood atop the ramp, looking as if it were a large, white flamed sun. Occasionally a small rainbow flame would make itself visible before disappearing. And its’ size! It had to be at least 50-70 ft in circumference. It was so massive and beautiful, it brought tears to Nudge’s eyes. She whipped them away quickly and looked back at Gazzy. He nodded and she climbed up the long ramp, when she made it to the top she saw the large off switch situated near it. She grabbed it with both hands and heard the question,”what are you doing?” from one of the scientists below seconds before the switch came down. She then took a large hammer, that was, for some strange reason, situated right next to her, and broke off the handle. The room went silent as a large rumble made itself heard. The screams only lasted seconds as a bright light blinded everyone and the School exploded, leaving them no time to run to the bomb shelter.
When Nudge awoke, she was buried underneath debris. She was easily able to to push it all off as she scanned the room. The generator was now gone, leaving a large hole of burnt, crumbling cement, melting iron, and charred bodies bodies all around her. She hoped that Gazzy was not one of them as the snap of blue light startled her. She found it came from the broken electrical cords and calmed herself. The called out to Gazzy and got no response. She called out again, becoming more agitated and scared but still receiving no response. She then said...
“GASMAN IF YOU DON’T COME OUT RIGHT NOW I WILL MAKE SURE TO FIND YOU AND DESTROY YOU!!!!”
He then pushed through the rubble, bending over to cough a bit. Nudge was overjoyed and hugged him tightly. She then pulled him out of the wreckage and they flew out of the building. They stood a few yards away and saw the destruction.
The dirt, instead of being a dark brown, was black and hard. Whatever few trees that were growing around were now black branches or stumps. The sky was darker now, a thick black cloud made it impossible for any light to come through. Cars that had been driving down the street or parked were empty and burnt, human carcasses sitting inside the drivers seat, burnt to the bone. All was still and silent.
Gazzy bent over and vomited onto the ground. Nudge was inclined to do the same but tried to hold it back as best as she could, but as she was just about to spew out her lunch the rest of the Flock had flew over. Her joy triumphed over her twisting stomach as she came up to hug everyone. Gazzy stood up and smiled weakly. Iggy came over to give him support as Angel whipped the remaining vomit from his mouth. They were all elated, they had succeeded in their plan and destroyed the School. But something felt strange, like it was as if the world was put out of balance. They heard a call in the distance and froze. They knew that voice, the one who had betrayed them so long ago. They turned to see Jeb Batchelder running towards them. As they prepared to destroy him he called loudly.
“Wait! Please wait and hear me out! I’m no longer a part of the School remember!? You destroyed it! You have no reason to destroy me!”
They realized his words were true and stood straight again, still cautious of the man and his motives.
When he finally came up to him he was panting heavily. Part of his lab coat had been singed off but overall he seemed unhurt. When he finally caught his breath he stood and looked at them with fearful eyes.
“You have doomed us us all!” he exclaims. And the Flock replied with a loud ,”WHAT!?”
“Yes,” he began, cleaning his glasses with his shirt,”do you realize how powerful that generator is? The reason why so many scientists guarded it for so many years? Why there were thousands of monito...”
“Yeah, yeah. Get to the point Jeb,” interrupted Fang, slightly annoyed at the rambling man.
“You have destroyed the entire Earth’s atmosphere!” he yelled, pushing his glasses back onto his face.
Iggy replied,”That’s impossible! Nobody can destroy the atmosphere. It’s too high and too thick.”
“But you did,” he said with a serious look,”the explosion from that generator caused the atmosphere to deteriorate, the entire world is now exposed to space and our supply of oxygen will be sucked out in a matter of hours.”
“And what will you do if we say we don't believe you?” inquired Max, skeptical of Jeb’s claim.
“I will show you then, come with me.” He ran up to a nearby car and started to hot-wire it. The Flock looked at each other with worried expressions but decided they could take him on if this was a trap.
They hopped into the minivan, which Jeb was able to successfully start. He drove off as the kids spent the entire ride planning what they would do if this happened to be a trap. The car then came to a halt and Jeb told them they had arrived. They stepped out of the car and where situated on one of California’s beaches. Just as they were about to refute Jeb’s preposterous claim he pointed up to the sky. They looked up and froze, terror spreading through their bodies.
Above them their was no clouds or sky, in clear view was the moon and stars along with the pitch black of space. Nudge fell to her knees, knowing she caused this to happen. Max comforted her, saying it was all their faults and not hers. They all looked back at Jeb, hoping to find some small hope or at least some answers.
Jeb shook his head somberly. There was no hope. The Earth would eventually lose all oxygen and everyone would perish. In the distance a meteor could be seen coming down and hitting earth’s surface, causing a large flash of light to be seen from thousands of miles away.
Then Max remembered something and called a friend. The Flock was just about to question her but then remembered the friend and began to smile. Jeb looked at them confused.
“Who are you calling Max?” he asked.
She replied,”A friend we made in our travels. He’s an alien named Zephyr and probably the only one able to save the earth.” As she said this another meteor fell, this time plummeting into the water causing a large wave to hit the beach nearby them.
“How could he possibly help us though?’ Jeb inquired skeptically.
She smiled,”he has an ability to create bubbles, but not ordinary bubbles. These bubbles sorta’ mimic the world’s atmosphere. If he could create one large enough to cover the earth...”
Someone answered the phone, which was set to speaker so that everyone could hear.
“Yes Max?” said a young mans voice on the phone.
Max replies saying, “Zephyr could you help us. The Earth-”
“I know Max,” he interjected before she could finish her sentence,”I can see it from where I am. Which happens to be the moon.” He chuckles a little.
“Well you know what to do then?” Max asks, a slight amount of worry in her voice.
There’s a slight pause as Zephyr thinks. After what seemed like hours he replies,”yes. I will surely try.”
Then all is silent except for the soft grunts from Zephyr. He was a very human like alien, in fact he looked almost 100% human to everyone he has met. The only differences that are seen is that his skin on his smooth, lean body is much paler and his eyes where an unnatural amethyst violet. His short, smooth, black hair would catch in the wind as he holds out his arm, a bubble beginning to form. Then that bubble grows exponentially larger. The Flock and Jeb look up and see the bubble form on the moon. Soon they pass inside as it begins to swallow the Earth. The growing begins to slow and Zephyrs low grunts turn into battle cries as the strain of making such a large atmospheric bubble starts to take its toll. He refuses to give up, knowing that the Earth will be doomed if he doesn’t succeed. He is nearly complete till the growing stops. He falls to one knee, soaked in sweat, as he tries with all his might to expand the bubble to that last amount, but to no avail. Just as he was about to give up he hears a voice on the phone, which he has left on so that he communicate with the Flock. Then it turns into a chant as the Flock and Jeb cheer him on. He sums up what little strength he has left and encloses the Earth inside the bubble. He then teleports to his friends before collapsing at their feet. They lift him up and congratulate him. The sky then begins to reform, the stars replaced with clouds and the pitch blackness of space with the blue sky and sun.
Everyone cheered happily, knowing that they weren’t going to die for a long time. They began to play on the beach and Zephyr demonstrated his atmospheric bubbles to Jeb. It was all good and well again.
Soon afternoon came, and the Flock was ready to go. Zephyr decided to join so that he could monitor the bubble he created around the Earth a little more. As they were ready to leave they looked back at Jeb, taking pity on the man for they knew that he had lost everything. The Flock and Zephyr nodded in unison and Max approached the lone man.
“Jeb,” she began,”since you lost everything due to us bombing the school and helped us with saving the world, we decided to let you back into the Flock again.”
He stood in utter surprise, then smiled as he knew he now received a second chance. He hugged Max, tears streaming down his face. She hugged him back, a little emotional herself.
“But,” she added, serious,”if you betray us again, there will be consequences.” She then smiled and they all began their next adventure, as one big family.
