Description
I wanted to capture the curious (and controversial) blend of old and new architecture at the Louvre in Paris. I did a lot of experimental photography there and found photographing glass pyramids to be quite tricky.Related content

This pyramide is fascinating, isn't it? I've been there and admiring it a few years ago.
I think you've done a good job, it looks lovely from this angle, through the old arc

Thanks for your comment Morticia. The Parisians have a love-hate relationship with the new(ish) entrance to the Louvre; some love it and some hate it!
It's quite hard to photograph but I was quite pleased with this one. Tom Hanks walked through that very archway whilst pondering the whereabouts of the Holy Grail

Yes, I remember. It's a long time ago and the things were quite new when I was there - but now you mention it I can see them look rather disgusted at the glass pyramids in front of their beloved Louvre

Wow! You got to go to the Louvre, that is awsome! As for photographing a glass pyramid, it is hard. My only suggestion would be try getting a shot of something else through the pyramid.

The Louvre is amazing...especially as I went just after reading Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code" of which part is set in there. I also took photos inside the gallery in which the Mona Lisa is hanging and was even able to get up close to take a photo of it. You're not supposed to but they seem to turn a blind eye!
I'll post some more of the Louvre sometime soon.
Thanks for the suggestion about shooting through the pyramid. I'll try that next time I'm there!
