Well, even though it's only 10 days into the new year, since the new game's out and people have been posting this all over Facebook, twitter, and tumblr, I thought I'd join in and wow, my tastes have massively changed over the course of last year. I still remember how Sanae and Nitori were tied to 1st place the last time I did one of these. Anyway, I'm going to be talking about my top 15 Touhou girls on why I love them so much(yeah, not just the 10 shown above). Sadly though, several characters did not land where I'd expect them to land.

(Also, since I've never played any of the PC-98 games, they will not be in the sort. Maybe I'll do it again with the 98 cast included but only to be kept in stash.)

(Actually, now that I think about it, this should've been in Journals instead. Fuck.)

[Character Explanation(in increasing order)]

15. Hong Meiling : While she has a rocky start with me, she's one of the first characters I played as when I first got Touhou 12.3 - Unnatural Thinking Law(UNL) aka Hisoutensoku, and she reminded me of several Street Fighter characters, so I started to like her like that. And also, have you seen her legs? Dayum, girl got some delicious legs!

14. Cirno : Like Meiling, she's also one of the first characters I picked up in Hisoutensoku. In fact, she was the first character I picked up and the first character I won the Story mode with. She's just a lovely fairy who is just too stubborn and stupid for her own good. I just find her cute.

Also, she's a lovable baka, so what's not to love?

13. Satono Nishida : While I'm saddened that her dancer-in-crime Mai Teireida didn't end up back to back with her(since I just feel that they're not complete without each other), I'm not gonna lie when I say that I like Satono better because her design is just cuter than Mai's, not to mention she's such a sweet girl! No wonder Okina hired them to be her backup dancers.

12. Keine Kamishirasawa : Okay, something about Keine. Other than fanarts of her, I first got to know her from a Touhou fangame called "Fantasy Maiden Wars: Scarlet" which is just a Super Robot Wars clone, and in that game I thought she was badass, what with her summoning swords and HEADBUTTING PEOPLE! How can you not like her? She's also a teacher and a motherly/sisterly figure to all, so that's a plus.

11. Shinmyoumaru Sukuna : Two words: SMOL INCHLING! She's so tiny I wanna protect her! She's just so cute in every way I just can't... I thought she'd get higher, but apparently not since she was beaten by certain sisters who I will talk about soon.

10. Koishi Komeiji : Speaking of the sisters, here's one of them. Koishi, the younger of the Komeijis, is cute, sure, and is just your typical slightly-perverted, incestuous little sister as portrayed in most doujinshis, but for me, she's only a misunderstood sister who could not understand the weight of her abilities(now where have I heard of that?). She just wanted someone to show her affection, is all.

That, and she's really cute when paired with Satori and Kokoro.

9. Satori Komeiji : And now the other Komeiji sister, Satori. To be honest, I like her a lot more than her younger sister, but somehow they ended up tying at 9th place. Not that I mind, at least she got higher than Koishi. Anyway, about her, well, she's a quiet girl who can get quite smug at times, almost at a kuudere level. She's also worth of PROTECC from me!

8. Narumi Yatedera : She's just a cutie, that's all I can say. I mean, she's kind of like a guardian type of character that overlooks a place, and I don't know why, but her design just seems to click with me. Also worth of PROTECC from me.

7. Aunn Komano : Speaking of guardians, this girl right here. This girl! She's just such a cutie, I just lost against her the first time I landed my eyes on her! Her moe, her cuteness charm, her smile! AAAAAAAAH! PROTECC X100!!!

She's also the only character I just can't imagine being angry, sad, or in a suffering state. Those who lewd her in a non-vanilla, guro way can go burn in hell and should be punishable by death! loljk

6. Nitori Kawashiro : She has been my no. 1 for quite a long time after Sanae has claimed that spot, but over the recent times there have been some sort of drought in terms of her fanart. Must be due to her sudden change of personality from Mountain of Faith to the more recent games. Whatever people might say about her, she still holds a special place in my heart. I just don't know why she's ranked below 5th though...

5. Jo'on Yorigami : Okay, I don't know how she got here because I only voted for her sister/other half, but whatever, she's a new character, so I'll let this slide. (Probably because I picked 'Tie' when deciding between her and Shion, so whenever I pick Shion it also picks her as well?)

4. Shion Yorigami : Now this is who I wanted to talk about actually. Just released not too long ago(under a month in fact) and she already ranked this high? Something must be up here! Well, there are a few. One, she's a sympathetic character that you just can't help but feel sorry for her. Two, she's just a lot cuter than her cool sister who only looks like your typical rich himedere girl from a generic harem anime, hence why I think she should've ranked lower than she should but for some reason she still ranked high anyway. Also, three, she's motherfucking Blue Mokou/Blukou!

3. Sanae Kochiya : This girl... she's been my no. 1 waifu across the board for the longest time since when I first got into Touhou. She's also the character that introduced me to Touhou as well, albeit for a different altogether(I actually first saw her in an underwater ryona doujin and I was like, "I like her. I want more art of her."). She's a good girl, a sweet and caring shrine maiden. Forget about her 'Sanae is a slut' meme, I think she's actually one of the nicest characters in Touhou(when she's not busy toying around with Kogasa that is).

I found it funny how I always ship her and Nitori solely based on my fetishes even though they never officially meet in canon and have nothing to do with each other. Even lots of other people have pointed that out. I'm weird.

2. Sumireko Usami : For the love of God, please do not bully her! I understand that she almost destroyed Gensokyo like countless others out there, but she's just a confused high school girl who walked through the Hakurei Barrier in the wrong time and place when the Religious War happened. She's actually a really sweet girl who is ready to help.

I just still don't understand how she singlehandedly produces more ryona and guro doujinshis than all the other Touhou characters as a whole. What, she's not Mima, so is that any reason to want to kill her over and over, you sick fucks?

When she was first released, I was indifferent to her, thinking that she's only a generic "emotionless" type of character, but after learning about her backstory and such and because of how cute her fanarts are, I just can't help but activate my Onii-chan mode where I "pledged" to protect her, thus how she suddenly skyrocketed into my no. 1 spot. I just... she's just so cute, alright? I can't help it!
