BIO: Garth is an eight year old North American Porcupine. He was born to a young single mother. As a little one, he showed much potential, appearing to be something of a prodigy. In the beginning of his education he proved to be incredibly intelligent, until one summer. He was one year old and would be entering the second grade in three weeks. His mother, wanting him to exercise, sent him outside to play. He did as he was told and went out to see some of the other forest children, when something fell from the sky. No-one that was there knew what it was, and poor Garth never saw it coming as it came down flat on his head, knocking him out cold. He didn't appear to sustain many injuries until he began to talk. He was now unable to give a relevant response for anything. If you asked him a question he couldn't answer. He could shake his head no, nod yes or shrug his shoulders, but if he had to answer with his voice he couldn't muster the correct words, usually just spewing out any random word or phrase that happened to be in his little head. It was thought that all his intelligence had been lost in the accident, until he returned to school. If he was asked something verbally, he could not answer aside from the indiscriminate babble the incident had thrown on him, but he did just as well on any written assignments as he had done before. He still knew the answers in his mind, but somewhere between there and coming out of his mouth the proper responses would become mangled into purposeless drivel. As time has progressed, Garth has recovered a bit. If something is said to him repeatedly, he may, after a few tries, be able to come up with the correct answer. However, he doesn't know the correct responses from the improper ones, so he has to have everything repeated to him. Even without being able to speak properly, he has led a fairly normal life.
