Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets in too deep while doodling Chao. Gotta love 'em! They look adorable in your style. The lighting is gorgeous, especially on the shiny ones, and you got a ton of mileage on expressions and body language. Your weighted lines work really smoothly while still giving that charming sketchy-but-finished look. I also love the colors; they make a world of difference distinguishing each Chao as a new one, even those of the same types. Well done!
I think my favorites of this batch are the one in the top-left corner, the fiery one near the bottom, the Sprite-colored one on the right side of the very middle, and the little dude with the egg on his head.

Oh yes, the top left I had always made back when I was a kid. I found the seal animal parts worked really well with the Hero Fly because of the matching colour patterns. It was always so pretty to look at. Hah, the orange one with the rattle was a chao I screened from sa1. Most to all of these were screenshot in-game so I could have a full reference and varied chao in my sketch dump. Chao truly can be fun to draw. It was interesting to draw chao interacting with eachother since its something we don't actually see. Chao don't seem to be very self aware at timesΒ

I love the one with a pot over his head. He looks like the youngest child who doesn't quite know how he got into this big messed up family and just tags along awkwardly.
I also like the light-yellow normal-fly one, he looks like he'd be lemon soda flavored.
