That sketchy style is really paying off i mean look at it its got sorta a solemn feel to it contemplates the character nicely and how he's feeling in that moment. Maple almost looks like he's called out here but theres something about his eyes the way you've drawn them with the smile gives the implication of what being loyal to his males ideals at the time although he might have been reconsidering it almost its all on a scale here it goes one way or another, hate or confusion i can't really tell but its also the way you coloured it the eyes really stick out holy hell your blended colouring never ceases to amaze thank you!

Wow, yeah! Man this getting me in the seedrian mood. I don't know what you see, but that's definitely not quite a smile he has.
It kind of looks like a dead world in the background and I liked that. Whether it's where they went to or were.
But I really like what you thought of it. I was actually quite worried that the eyes were too bright.
This guy needs more art.
