This was actually good for me though. I even played about with different shading.
It sounds like I'm just saying it, but I genuinely had a lot of fun drawing him.
I had to pick one of your characters I felt some sort of attachment to- one I knew a bit about. buttt I do really like his design so

I somehow knew you were going to pick a human character, but I swear to god I thought you were going to choose Hazel or Vesta. But I'm really glad to see Sage in your style!! It's really interesting to see him like this, in a quiet and vulnerable looking state. I look at this and immediately go to his state of mind. Funnily enough, even though I wrote he smokes weed, I actually don't know what a blunt looks like at all LOL but I think he's smoking a blunt rather than a cigarette...right? IDK I'VE NEVER SMOKED EITHER but I know cigarettes have more a firm shape. I love his loose body posture, it's so human and real. And yet at the same time it has a cartooney flair. Looking at his eyes especially, it looks a lot like Gorrillaz style incorporated here (not that that's a bad thing. that's a kickass combo I never thought about with him). The background is extremely minimalist but sO fitting. I noticed the tiny succulents in the corner and it makes me so giddy you remembered such a small detail about Vesta's house. And the hanging plant too-- so cute and charming.Β
That green shading and overall color palette choice is so unique and interesting. I tend to stay away from greens in shading because they can be tricky but this looks so nice....it looks almost alien and also gives me this movie vibe, yno that kind of movie scene where everyone is getting high or drinking and for some reason the lights are a strong significant color or something aha. His hair has such a unique shape, too. Love how it falls off his shoulders.Β

Yeah lol, that is a joint he's smoking. YAh, I totally merged some Gorillaz style in there and I found it really, reallyyyy appealing. Super glad you like it. I think its also because Gorillaz is the most experience I have in human art tbh. For real, idk how green came into it considering I usually go with purples and blues all the time. But I really like how crisp it made it. And yeah, why is that a thing in movies? I swear thats a brit movie thing Hey boys, lets get high n change light bulbs

haa yeah I had him shield it but then I remembered he's indoors n theres no wind to block out. unless him n vesta's got some major draft issues
