Description
Please read the guidelines before you make your own!Scriptrick designing guidelines
Physical description
Body Types
Scriptricks are a bipedal, cat-like magical creature covered soft fur that comes in various lengths, patterns and colours. They range from 3-7 feet and commonly have two horns above their eyes as well as large ears. Their most notable trait is their tail, which has a fully functioning paw on the end of it. This is used for grabbing, climbing and basic movement.
Scriptricks walk on two legs but are capable of quick but awkward movement on all fours due to their bulky tail and small hind paws.Info journal here
Customs info here
The traits shown are included, but not limited! There is plenty of flexibility in what a Scriptrick can look like, so long as the design guidelines are being followed.
Common ears: Upwards facing, may angle forward or backwards slightly.
Uncommon ears: Flattened back or down.
Rare ears: Drooping, folded or mismatched.
Common horns: Small horns, may be dull or sharp
Uncommon horns: Medium to large length, usually smaller than ears
Rare horns: Antlers or other animal variations, mismatching, more than two or none at all.
Possible "other animal" rare horns could include sheep or ram, gazelle, etc.
Common eyes: White or black
Uncommon eyes: Any colour, pupil (May also be any colour)
Rare eyes: Heterochromatic, "shaped" or multiple pupils (May be any shape)
Note: Central and Sectoral Heterochromia are considered anomalies and are not allowed, as they resemble pupils too closely. Heterochromia must be full.
Multicolour rarity will vary depending on the present colours. Anything mixed with black is an automatic rare.
Ex: Common multi: Tan and white
Uncommon multi: Blue and green
Rare multi: White and black
Common colours: White, lighter greys and tans.
Uncommon colours: Non-natural colours, normally pastel or low contrast.
Rare colours: Black or with a distinctive pattern. (Lined paper, checkers, full on galaxy. Anything that is recognizable as a pattern and takes up the majority of the body.)
Markings: Markings are different from patterns and are considered common/free. Markings can show over patterned fur and may be any colour.
Patterns: Patterns normally consist of shapes or additional colours and take up most of the body.
Multicolour: Multicolour refers to a mix of common and or uncommon colours, a half black half white Scriptrick would be considered rare because of the black.
Common ink: Black or any single colour
Uncommon ink: White
Rare ink: Multicoloured or metallic (May be shiny, cannot be glowing)

most scriptricks don’t tend to wear clothes since they it’s not normal to cover up the writing their ink creates, but it’s still up to you

I have a question about the eyes.
Its about the last one with heart eyes.
Can it be anything like stars or other shapes or does it have to just be heart eyes?

XCan a scrip have a singular horn? Or two horns in a different configuration? Like 'unicorn' or kirin'?

They can! It would count as rare

Hi there, these are super cute and cool! I'm slightly confused though, are these semi-open or completely open? On the front page it says open but somewhere else it says semi so I wanted to check. I also wanted to know what traits MYOs are able to use.

They’re open! The group needs to be fixed up a fair bit so there may be some inconsistencies with journals, MYOs are able to use any common traits, two uncommons and one rare, no anomalies (claws protruding fangs etc)

I'm having trouble understanding what the circles of colors are for and why there are two sections, if I could possibly get an explanation that would be great!

I can't believe I'd forgotten to label that.. whoops
The larger box of colours indicates fur colour rarity, so natural colours like browns and greys are common (essentially parchment/paper colours) and brighter colours are uncommon, black and multicolour are rare.
The smaller box is ink colour, same concept but coloured ink is common!

Would i be able to make one as a character in a comic series i'm planning on making? I'm not going to profit off the character or your species unless it's okay but i just got an awesome design idea that'll fit the story i have and these things are so cool!

UnawareW0lf In reply to AuttumntheGuardian [2018-05-15 05:25:10 +0000 UTC]
So long as they fit the design guidelines and you don't claim them as your own species,, that would be just fine!

Few questions-
Are there genders?
What limitations are there?
May I get examples of the limitations if any?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
UnawareW0lf In reply to charlymd [2018-04-05 02:46:18 +0000 UTC]
Hey there!
Scriptricks do not have genders (or any organs, reproductive or otherwise) but they are more than free to choose pronouns and express themselves freely
Limitations are a maximum of 2 uncommon traits and 1 rare trait, you do not necessarily have to use them. "Anomalies" such as protruding fangs, claws, multiple tails, etc. are not allowed

aa these are super cool, i just have one question: are we allowed to draw them with mouths? I see a lot of art with no mouths evident so i was wondering if drawing them like grinning or smiling was ok and not considered an anomaly.

UnawareW0lf In reply to Butterlespice [2018-03-24 23:11:28 +0000 UTC]
Yup! Mouths are fine, scriptricks don't need to eat but they do have mouths

If you don't mind me asking, if they had silver ink (with a metallic shine) would that be considered uncommon or rare? Also are anomalies allowed to have, or do I have to do something to be allowed to add them? And are there any specific thing that isn't allowed for anomalies, like for example, feathers or fish like aspects?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
UnawareW0lf In reply to mailmuffinderpy [2018-03-14 03:33:41 +0000 UTC]
No worries! Sorry, the traits guide is a little out of date, Metallic Ink of any kind is considered rare, anomalies are not allowed for general MYOS, they're only allowed in my own customs and adoptables. There hasn't been a limit to what can and can't appear, there have been mimic feathers which has just been called the "Cherub" anomaly like in these two here, something like fins would also be possible!
Hope this helps!

I saw someone else post adopts of this species and I grew curious, so I decided to come to your page to learn more about your species. And oh my goodness I am so happy that I came here! Scriptricks are so unique and I love them and how they are designed! Truly adorable and magical! <3 I don't really know if there is something specific I need to do (lol sorry I'm not the smartest) but if it's okay with you, may I make one for myself please? I did read the rules and I know it says "semi open species" but I still wanted to ask. Just to make sure it was okay. Have a wonderful day/night! <3

I'm making one currently and I was wondering if dark blue and blue would count as a rare or uncommon fur color
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
UnawareW0lf In reply to SparkDaFoxu [2017-09-19 21:08:10 +0000 UTC]
As long as the dark blue is distinguishable from black, it would be uncommon!

AdoptableMakerz [2016-08-27 22:00:26 +0000 UTC]
Hello, I recently bought the one on the left of this batch
Would I be able to increase the fur around it's head to make it more like hair? (so it goes in the middle of her ears, it's the only difference I want to make to it, because I like drawing fur/hair like that ;o; )
If not, it's ok
also, can I make them identify as a "female" while not actually being that way?
(For example: how the gems in steven universe look and have voices like females, but don't identify as females, I'm asking to be the other way <3)
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
UnawareW0lf In reply to AdoptableMakerz [2016-08-27 22:10:41 +0000 UTC]
Yes of course! Minor alterations like that are fine, so go right ahead!
As for identifying as female, that's also perfectly fine. <3 Thanks for asking in advance!

What does their ink do? Or do you mean line art??
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
UnawareW0lf In reply to CloneKitty [2016-08-14 19:30:08 +0000 UTC]
Their ink is essentially their blood and it moves around freely, forming words which then projects onto the surface of their skin/fur. The writing that can appear is any bit of knowledge or information they've collected throughout their lives, most of the time it's something that is special to them.
