I remember tears streaming down your face

"Ludwig!" she cried.
"______, shh. Calm down meine liebling. It'll be alright." he soothed her.
"I'm scared. Everything's dark." she whispered.
"I-It's ok liebling. Hey, how about that smile I always love?" he suggested.

But ______ was trembling and crying. She was far from a smile. Well, who could smile when a war was brewing on. Germany was being bombed over and over again. Ludwig sighed as he knew he would have to go fight again. After all he was a soldier. Ludwig stood up but ______'s frail arms wrapped around his shoulder.

"Don't go." she cried.

Ludwig sat back down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her. He put his head on hers and breathed in her warm scent. Her trembling stopped and she still hugged his arm.

"I'll never let you go." he promised.

But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

Another bomb dropped and the couple jumped. ______ cried even harder because she heard countless cries of people, men, woman, heck even children. Ludwig cried silently because he heard them too; his people in agonizing pain.

"Don't leave me here alone." she whimpered as she buried her face in her lover's shoulder.
" I won't." he responded holding her closer.

The sun began to set and the screams of pain stopped. ______ shuddered at the thought of going outside. She knew she was going to die. She just knew it. Suddenly the sky turned darker and she rushed to the window to see what happened.

Another bomb had dropped and the houses were on fire. Everything was engulfed in flames. The bakery, the shops, the school, everything. She shrieked and ran back into Ludwig's shaking arms. They hugged each other tightly, both were seeking comfort from each other.

Suddenly another bomb dropped and unfortunately their house was the victim. ______ and Ludwig were lucky and didn't get burned, but both were crushed by the debris. Ludwig pulled her out of the bricks and concrete as he kept crying out her name.
