Description
The Northern Prides: Beyond the high Northern mountains lies the lands of the Northern Prides. Many and strong, they are held back from the Southern lands by the high, snowy Mountain range and the blistering heat of the South.

The Lowlands: The deep dip in the lands after coming over the Northern Mountains, they consist of flat, rolling plains where the main prey are large herds of wildebeast and zebra. Ruled by the Mbala (telltale) Pride, it was founded by a lion descended from Northern Royalty. Adventurous at heart, he was one of the first to traverse the mountains and encountered a small Pride, daughters of desert lions and early pioneers. He defended the lands from the imposing desert to the western river and founded a dynasty after him.

The Outlands: On the outskirts of the receding desert lies the dusty land of the Jangwa (desert) Pride. Most of their members have Northern blood in their veins, and are ill-suited to true nomadic desert life. Their prey consists of small mammals and lizards, gemsboks, springboks, and ostriches.

The Pridelands: The green grasslands past the hills and beyond rivers belong to the Ndona Pride. Their lands are filled with many small herds of zebra, antelope, and buffalo, and many animals migrate through their lands. Although prone to drought, there are resident prey in all but the worst conditions. The lands were founded by a lowborn male from the Northern lands named Tau. He fought with the Mbala his entire life and ruled the lands between the great desert, mountains, and rivers. He formed a Pride with the few nomadic females who had remained in the newly-rich lands once the desert receded.

They have two sovereignties within their borders, one belonging to the decendants of Tau's first daughter and the other belonging to the mountainous Mlima Pride.

Elephant Graveyard: A land between the rivers where elephants have gone to die for centuries. The amount of food available drew hyena clans out of the desert and near the lion prides.

The Savannahlands: Far to the South lie the last of the fertile lands left by the receding desert. These lands are filled with large prey, such as buffalo, giraffes, and elephants, and were founded by a lioness from the Northern lands. Although the lands dry often during droughts, the prey can rarely wander far. These lands are ruled by the Kusini Pride, the lions of the buffalo.

The Freelands: Formed of many small prides, rogues, and nomadic lions.

The Great Desert: Harsh and barren lands stretch far into the distance, and it was only the recession of the sands that allowed the Northern lions to cross their mountains. In the massive dunes, small prides of lions live. Uniquely suited for desert life, they range over massive areas and are mostly nomadic. The prides are mostly unknown, as they generally keep to themselves and those who leave do not speak of where they came from, for the desert is not safe for those not born in it's sands.
