- Jahara took a mate outside the Pride and later murdered her, but as they were mates at the time of conception and the birth of their cubs, Kya and Khari are legitimate
- Uru and Sade's cubs are legitimate because although their biological parents are Sade and a rogue male, because their birth was agreed upon by Sade and Uru as mates, they are considered legitimate cubs
- Zira's cubs are legitimate because she was both Rakeshi and Chumvi's mate
