History
Simba was born Crown Prince of the Pridelands, a new heir to replace the one Mufasa had already lost. He was mischievous and happy, a cub just old enough to be out of the constant care of his mother and to follow his magnificent father through his duties.

After retaking the lands, Simba allows himself to be guided my Mheetu in his decisions, the younger male becoming his closest advisor. Even with the Pride missing many members, one remains who had been loyal to Scar. Although Zira is willing to barter with Mheetu, Simba considered his position as King beyond question, and without his father to guide him, he makes a crucial mistake. When his firstborn is female, he goes back on his word to wed his firstborn to Vitani, and Zira's subsequent attack on his heir leads to her exile by his outraged queen.

Nala and Mheetu are angry with both of them, but Simba quickly learns what his father was meant to teach him. Even with his newfound confidence, the knowledge of Zira's singular hatred kept him wary. He forbids his young cubs to wander too far from Pride Rock. As they age, he grows more confident in them - and Nala becomes more impatient with his constant worry - but doesn't lose his wariness.

It is only when full war breaks out between the Ndona and the remnants of the Jangwa Pride, now led by Zira, that Simba learns of his mistake. He accepts Kovu as the future king, and welcomes those once exiled and their new Pride-sisters into his lands.

The remainder of Simba's reign is relatively peaceful. The new lionesses are more than happy to have a King and fill the Pridelands with cubs. The drought stays away, as if blessed by the Great Kings. When Kiara has great difficulty birthing her cubs, the firstborn, Kopa, is trained by Simba himself until his daughter recovers.

Simba lives long enough to retire, if only to insure that Kiara can control the Pridelands before his eventual death.
