A fresh coat of paint on Captain Planet. He's a tough sell given the amazing Don Cheadle live action comedy shorts and that incredible 80's power mullet of the original design. i thought I'd go for grace and elegance over adding shine to an ill advised look. I always saw the different colors on Cap as different elements like rock, water, earth and Grass......versus.....clothes as they loved to draw him with.

Oh my Gaia, is that a mohawk-mullet? Mullet-hawk? It looks so clean and dignified at that angle, I desperately want a wild tail trailing behind him lol
I like the smooth almost techy texture of the blue under the crustier more angular red sections.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers are the next logical, or close to it, to get a rebooted franchise along with GIJoe, Transformers, Jem, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, etc.
Personally I'd go with a more realistic take rather than going back to the cheesy of the show. I really like your design of him. Especially his hair, instead of a mullet.
Any reason why you didn't go with making him more like an Antaeus/Metamorpho design like I sometimes see Captain redesigned like?
