Cause they wanted him to actually look like a cyborg and not just some guy in a suit of armor that we all know would get bashed as some kind of Iron Man/War Machine rip off.

I appreciate the intention, but in my opinion he ended up looking pretty bad, he looks like if Megatron was anorexic

I think his logo should be bigger and more predominant. Also the plates representing his pectorals are not proportional.
