No dick move intended. Unsolicited c&C could potentially be seen that way but I'm quite used to it and take it for what it is. Our work is vastly different - I really dig the Jack Davis vibe in yours - and I'll respect it on that basis alone.Β

No? Just gonna sit there and take it?

Unrealistic. Thanos could destroy darkseid with a snap of his finger with the infinity gauntlet.Β

Nah, an avatar sure, but Darkseid's true power is enough to destroy the multiverse without even doing anything.

Research true form Darkseid.
Or Soulfire Darkseid.
Darkseid is a multiverse buster, Thanos WITH THE IG is a universe buster.

Not to mention Thanos is actually a ripoff of Darkseid.

Can we please stop using ripoff when describing every Marvel Character ever? How would you guys like it we kept claiming Aquaman was a ripoff of Namor? Couldn't we simply say Thanos was inspired from Darkseid?

pokefreak18 In reply to pokefreak18 [2017-04-13 09:24:17 +0000 UTC]
I can agree that Thanos and Darkseid are basically the same. I just get so agitated when I see people always comparing characters to DC. Stuff like Iron man is a ripoff of Batman, X-Men are a ripoff of Doom Patrol, Captain Marvel is a ripoff of Shazam, stuff like that. It's just that those DC fans have practically stated that nothing at Marvel is original, and that DC did it first and better. They realllllyyyyyy hate Squadron Supreme. And yet I have to explain time and time again, that the SS were created because the writer was a huge fan of the JL, and wrote basically a Marvel What If story where the Justice League took over the world. Also, I've seen Red Tool. It's Hilarious, and I'm currently waiting for Marvel's ripoff of a ripoff.

I'm not saying every Marvel character was a ripoff of a DC concept; it just happens that this is the case with Thanos:
www.cracked.com/article_23768_β¦
Fans long suspected that Thanos was a direct copy of Darkseid, down to the fact that both are rebellious members of a council of otherwise benign alien gods, and both seek to ultimately control or eliminate all life in the universe. But Thanos creator Jim Starlin denies this charge, instead blaming his editor, Roy Thomas -- a man whose job is usually to prevent plagiarism, not encourage it.
According to Starlin , he was inspired by DC's "New Gods" series, which introduced Darkseid, but he didn't set out to totally copy it. He merely borrowed bits and pieces while designing Thanos as an otherwise-original character who looked nothing remotely like Darkseid.
Upon seeing Starlin's concept art, Thomas thought the idea was great, except for one thing: They should go ahead and change everything about the character until he looked exactly like Darkseid, with enough minor differences that they could plausibly dodge a lawsuit.
And it isn't like this is the only time it has happened: Deadpool is a copy of Deathstroke that eventually found his own niche of awesomeness. And this isn't to say that DC's hands are clean: there's Swamp Thing vs. Man-Thing, for instance, and Bumblebee vs Wasp. Finally, a character recently popped up in Harley Quinn called Red Tool...which may or may not be a parody, but honestly it isn't a very good parody.π: 0 β©: 0

Interesting take on this battle of Titans... Thanos would probably welcome the trashing from Darkseid only to taste his own mortality just to court Death, but would NEVER allow someone who he feels is inferior to him in every way defeat him. Thanos + Infinity Gauntlets = Victory

Without the Infinity Gauntlet I would definitely give the fight to Darkseid. With the Infinity Gauntlet I would say Thanos would win easily assuming he doesn't sabotage himself, which is apparently why he lost in the Infinity Gauntlet series.

Yeah, as cool as the image is, Thanos shouldn't be shown on the losing side if he has the gauntlet, remove that and this piece is a lot better. Darkseid is a badass, powerful motherfucker, but the infinity gauntlet literally makes the user omnipotent, omniscient, and all powerful.
My marvel knowledge isn't as deep as my DC knoledge. But I believe the only beings in the Marvel universe more powerful than the Infinity Gauntlet are the Living Tribunal and the One-Above-All, the latter of which I know nothing about save for what I just looked at on the wiki.

The gauntlet and the gems only have power in the universe they were created (in marvel), while the anti-life is multiversal (in dc)

firemountain12 In reply to HazeAlastorXIII [2017-04-22 15:18:03 +0000 UTC]
Granted, but that doesn't stop the INF Gauntlet from surpassing it in power within it's own universe. There is no known limit to the powers of the gauntlet and all of the infinity stones together (as long as the wielder still possesses it), while people have broken free from Anti-life before. Plus, Darkseid actually has to SAY the equation to make it work. The gauntlet really doesn't require any activation...
