Have you tried going into the negative numbers - formula tab on the main window or in the navi, start sliding the 'Scale' Slider below zero. This works in getting more organic shapes in all the other boxes so it should work on this one too!
Fiery Fire also has a tutorial about making negative boxes, rotated. That's where you may find the trees!

Try try again! LOL! I don't always get anything out of tuts either but sometimes you get something other than what the teacher wrote and that's cool too.
Here's one thing you can try - I put the parameters in this one here [link] - it's a rotbox so you should be able to find trees. First exchange the ABox to the platinum one, then search and search for tree like structures. You can also fiddle with the rotation to create other shapes and keep looking for trees. This is the rotbox I made from the tut I suggested and I tweaked it several times.
Here's another one Luca sent me and I'm sure that if you did the same thing, you'd eventually start to find trees [link] .
There's one guy on here Theli-At who almost always posts his parameters and he's got a lot of rotboxes, some of which are a bit tree or plant-like. [link]
