I think someone I know of wrote that once: m.fanfiction.net/s/11536249/1/… didn’t really go anywhere though. Was never finished.

I know I just want your thoughts on the diamonds meeting or at the very least hearing of a being that can consume entire planets or the fact that Earth has several powered beings on its own

How exactly do you mean? Can you elaborate on that and maybe reexplain her thinking, and why vader doesn’t fit into that?

28ear In reply to Makutakin [2018-03-29 15:54:17 +0000 UTC]
Because of what she said in Keep Beach City Weird and I quote "Humans just live short, boring, insignificant lives, so they make up stories to feel like they're part of something bigger. They want to blame all the world's problems on a single enemy they can fight, instead of a complex network of interrelated forces beyond anyone's control." that is what I mean by that because I wonder what she would think about the humans like Vader or Luke in particular I for once would like to see someone take offense to that.

Yeah, that might be a part of that. And the villains (and heroes too) in Star Wars do kinda contradict that. (Which is one of the reasons why I’m not sure how well the two fit together.)

it will be a great character growth for pearl...of all the gems she is the one who does not take well change well. Every time that something changes her world (Rose's idea, new information of the past...Steven not being just like Rose) she freaks out. Knowing that there is a not scientific (well not by much) tipe of nature in the universe, "the force", will be horrible to her. she will despair (in silence or openly the more she is pushed). Garnet will accept it and move on, amethyst will be exited but pearl, will take the hardest that The Force exist and fate or destiny can exist.

Makutakin In reply to EIRivero [2018-04-02 09:42:50 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that is pretty cool! But, does the force really work that way? I know it can show visions of the future and all, but does it really have to determine what one’s destiny is? Plus, what the gems call magic is really the force, and I feel like they may’ve kinda known that the entire time. In my story, All gems have it, they just don’t use it in the same way as organics do, though, if that’s true, I wonder why they never taught the humans of earth how to use it, even when they started getting more involved with them. I’m sure it could’ve helped a lot if pearl not only taught Connie how to use a sword, but also how to move things with her mind and predict her opponent’s moves, (though maybe garnet would have to teach her that.) I guess she’s not Force-sensitive, and you’d have to be that in order to do that, but it still could’ve helped to do that I think. That’s part of the reason why it’s kinda hard for me to cross these two things over, because Star Wars and Steven Universe kinda contradict each other in a lot of ways. And this is one of them.

They should discuss it? They may not get much of a chance to do so, especially with Obi-wan, who’ll be their first introduction to the Jedi.

not in the sense of discusing it, dialectic in the sense that the story whill need to flow in a way that each actions and cultural crash creates between the protagonist some kind of agreement or understeanding of their 2 world views.

the beacon or signa that luke finds is more than enough to kickstart the whole plot. you can go like this easily. luke finds the cristals they produce the signal, homeworld recives the signal and they panic (milleniums of secrecy have made so only the diamonds and very few high rank gems know of the shame that homeworld suffered). the gems get the signal and its weird to them, because they wont know if it was from homeworld or some gem rebel cell. there you go the prologue. i gave you more context of the homeworld reaction in the note.

Makutakin In reply to EIRivero [2018-04-02 22:44:04 +0000 UTC]
I see. Luke could come across it, or, rather, a wailing stone, and that sends the signal out. (We were also thinking of starting out with the gems telling Steven about this, as they heard it from rose, who heard it from pink diamond, who heard it from blue diamond, who heard about it from the gems in that galaxy before they were trapped by the force wave.)
But, we’re not sure about that. We haven’t done much with it lately...

Yeah. But I guess we’re not always consistent with working on it, I don’t hear from my main writer for long periods of time, and I’m not always good about following up with it or contributing. I do make a lot of interesting ideas, but I’m not always great at executing them, or putting them into a flowing narrative, which is why I have people to help with that. and I do kinda have a lot of ideas, too many some might argue...

your whole back story could fit in three part series or a full long epic one with lots of footnotes (that is what we do in the career of history).

Makutakin In reply to EIRivero [2018-04-03 00:09:14 +0000 UTC]
Okay, I haven’t worked out how we’ve worked up to this, but I think it’d be right after vader kills Obi-wan (Which Steven tried to prevent with his shield, and then Vader turns his wrath on him, but Obi-wan dies anyway, by vanishing into the force I think.) But pearl and the other crystal gems (including Peridot and Lapis) come to save him, after beating the stormtroopers that were surrounding the Jedi and the Sith, while Han gets the falcon ready to fly, and Luke might come to try to help fight vader as well. (Not sure a lot of this makes sense, especially when they should’ve been running away. I mean, they beat those troopers, but there’s an entire Death Star filled with them! And somehow I question if vader or tarkin would want these other magical beings, the gems, to escape. Plus, maybe Steven should’ve known better than to try and save Kenobi, and should’ve just ran with the rest of them, and maybe the more level-headed characters should’ve just pulled them away from that situation. Maybe I’m rambling, I hope I gave you enough...)

P: SHUT UP! DONT LISENT TO HIM...
DV: You arent human or one of them (vader said with surprise feeling the peculiar energy from this little boy)...what are you?
(steven hesitates...what exactly was him?)
DV: i can help you get answers...
P: NO!....(block lightsaber)

Mmmmmm. I guess it’s good. Just not sure he’d be that reckless. (Then again, he did jump in to save Obi-Wan, and I’m not sure that’s quite in character for him to do.)
And is Steven thinking about himself, or about what vader is?
Also, not sure vader would be saying that. He’d probably just be focused more on pearl. What might he say to her? Especially if he feels some of her inner conflict? (Of course, by this point, most, of not all of it having to do with rose was already gone, so, not sure if Vader could exacerbate it. Then again, this is vader, one of the most powerful and evil Sith Lords of all time, if anyone knows how to push people’s buttons, it’s him. Though his master could probably do it even better.)

EIRivero In reply to Makutakin [2018-04-03 00:49:24 +0000 UTC]
to be honest, i think the most realistict dialogue would be similar as the one in phantom menace when qui gon fought darth maul, just quick shut to steven to get in the ship and be done with it. the gems are heroic but not stupid, fight the whole death star is not an option.

Makutakin In reply to EIRivero [2018-04-03 00:59:59 +0000 UTC]
You’re probably right. (I guess I just wanted them to fight him a bit so they know how powerful and evil the Sith can be, so they know that Homeworld aren’t the only ones to fear anymore. Sure, the Death Star and this army of humans that seem to adopt homeworld-like ideals and doctrines, and all their ships and weapons do seem to symbolize that too, but none of that stuff is magical like they are. But the Sith are, and they’re all the more dangerous because of it. You think that makes sense?)

EIRivero In reply to Makutakin [2018-04-03 01:22:47 +0000 UTC]
if that is what you wanted then it would be something like this:
P:STEVEN GET IN THE SHIP NOW!
SU: PEARL (said as her spear and vader lightsaber crashes)
DV: (impresed that the speark blocked his lightsaber) remarcable...(looking at the gems going to the ship) who are you?
(a pink shield flies to him and...never conects)
DV: (while holding the shield at bay with the force) a shield made of light....
P: (pearl is shock that he not only stoped steven shield but that he did it without his lightsaber) how did...
DV: your hability to create light weapons is nothing...comparated to the power of the force (the shield had began spinning since he caught it and with a violent movement it flew with such force towards her that she trown back, getting her spear out of her hands)
SU: PEARL!

Makutakin In reply to EIRivero [2018-04-03 01:32:17 +0000 UTC]
Neat! (Though, technically they have the force too, but they use it differently than organic beings do. I think it has to do with them focusing most of their energy into making their light bodies, which means that that doesn’t allow for them to use the force in the same way as organic beings do, with telekinesis, precognition, and empathic abilities and speed, since they expend a lot of their power making their bodies and weapons and such. There are some gems that do have such abilities, but they’re obviously very specialized and have special functions in homeworld’s hierarchy. We were even talked about having the diamonds make a specialized gem called a Kaiburr that might be able to do what organic force users can do, just not really be one of them.)
Also, if you’ve ever played the video game Undertale, you might be able to know that this conflict is kinda like the one between humans and monsters in that story. Especially because organic force users can, using a dark side technique, absorb the living force from living beings, in this case, gems, making them just lifeless gemstones without any life or magic in them. And this in turn makes the force user stronger. (So you can imagine why Palpatine has the diamonds locked up like that. He’s looking to steal their power to perhaps become godlike!)
