I'm not feminine, but I am female. Feminines and females are not "Defenseless" or "Weak" and the people of the world who think that they are need Β to open their eyes.

I know the feeling. I'm a dude and I can't say jack shit about what I'm really feeling because the instant I do, a dozen assholes pounce on me ready to fling shit. Guys and girls alike. It's pretty sad.

I'm quite feminine, but I'm anything BUT weak.

My overall style is feminine. I am the stereotypical feminine person with my 'let's not fight so much, okay?' attitude. But, while I do not like to act like the big bad bully, I can lay a punch when called on and I am not going to be pushed around. Although I do try to please everyone! But I will also not be one to scream at little things like bugs or dirt.

Like the stamp says, feminism isn't weak or defenseless.

"anyone else saw the "female NOT feminine" stamp?

it's sad that our society has come to this, to believe that being feminine was a bad thing and want to dissociate themselves from it at that point.

from my point of view, being feminine doesn't mean being weak, it's being nurturing, patient, capable of adaptation and perseverance, kind of like a mother would be."

THIS! I saw the stamp you mentioned and another one telling "a female misogynist"; I almost hit my head to the desk.

both sides have their strengths and weaknesses, but for some reason it's somewhat better seen in society to be "masculine" rather than to be "feminine", which i find downright ridiculous

as for the stamp you are mentionning, it proves my point well. some girls feel the need to be seen as having masculine qualities in order to be accepted, as if being feminine was a bad thing altogether. to those people i can only shake my head and hope that they come out of their cave one day.

thanks for taking the time to comment. :]

Women are far from weak. At least games like Skyrim acknowledge it. Even the manliest of men can get his ass handed to him by a woman there.

It's terribly sad, I believe, that some males cannot open up about their feelings without being looked upon negatively by others. A man who isn't afraid to talk about his emotions is more of a man than one that is in my opinion. My sis-in-law says that's why women generally live longer than men - they aren't "emotionally constipated."

lol that is probably true.

it might sound horrible to say but i'm kind of glad there is sort of a balance between the bad things that happens to both genders.

females have to suffer every month for a long period of time, not to mention childbirth and other kinds of social and biological injustice, so it's only fair men get their load of problems along with their gender too. i'm not saying that they deserve those problems, but it just wouldn't be fair if only one gender got all the disadvantages. well that's my opinion anyway.

Well, I look and act kind of masculine, yet at the same time I technically am weak and dependent by a lot of people's views; but I still have a lot of strengths, just that....i'm weaker than what most people want to be expected. I also find it sad that we've come to a point where if a woman isn't a strong, independent type she's complete useless trash now, like she has no more value as a person. Femininity and weakness and masculinity and strength don't always go hand and hand, so I agree that you can be feminine and still be totally strong but I think instead of people focusing on what's good or right to be, we should all celebrate our differences if they hurt no one.

undefined-species In reply to Aq215 [2012-06-05 20:15:35 +0000 UTC]

being feminine is just being strong in a different way than what masculinity preaches, it's absurd to apply the way to define strong for masculinity to femininity and refute femininity based on that because they are two completely different concepts that hold strength in their own way.

thanks for taking the time to comment. :]

Oh, and have you ever seen women who like to carry around big purses for all their stuff? Those women use them when someone attacks them, and it is hilarious. They may not have raw strength, but they can still beat the snot out of their attacker. I would like to think that is why I keep a few hard books inside my purse for other purposes than reading. Good weapons. -.^

exactly. just because feminine people defend themselves in a different way than masculine people would doesn't make it less good, it just makes it DIFFERENT.
i just don't understand why society seems to set masculinity as the example to follow and most of the time dismisses feminine qualities as being weak, just because their qualities differ doesn't make one better than the other.

I defiantly agree with that. For a little while I didn't used to be. Although I didn't change my mind because of mlp, but there is a character on there called rarity. She is a feminine woman, and she uses that to her advantage when she is kidnapped. Everypony there thought that she would be weak and useless, but she used her lady like attributes in a different way. By the time the show ended the kidnappers were begging her to go away.

haha, yes that episode. it shows what i mean pretty well, it's true that she is the most feminine of them and her friends judged her merely based on the fact that the definition of femininity seems warped.
in the minds of most people they automatically make the assumption that being feminine = being weak, but as we can see later on that she is perfectly capable of getting out of a pinch, just in a different way that a "masculine" pony would. n n
