I said "sieg heil" to a neo nazi today. I was cycling back home on a road through one of the local parks, and this guy was standing next to the road with a pair of reasonably big dogs, while his punky girlfriend was getting something from the trunk of their car. He's fairly well-known locally for meticulously nurturing the fact that he looks like an exact replica of Adolf H. When I approached him he stood there staring at me and then he started to grunt. That's right, he started grunting, not his dogs. I suppose the idea was for me to feel intimidated. Instead, my Britisher sarcasm instantly took over and without looking up I said "sieg heil" and carried on. I think there must have been a sufficient amount of contempt in the way I pronounced it, but then it occurred to me that types like him are so dim that advanced concepts like sarcasm and contempt are too hard for them to grasp, and he probably thought I was one of "theirs" and was greeting him in approval of his very being. So next time he sees me he might actually wave at me, who knows. And he is indeed genuinely very scary, not because of some imaginary menacing appearance of his, but because it takes only a single glance to see that that guy really has serious issues. Stuff is very, very wrong "up there", in a deeply dark and repulsive manner. Like the saddest case one could ever come across. He looks like he'd be better off dead. Some people are.
