I was once taught that in the Soviet Union a welder earned more than a doctor. And while I was never a huge fan of the USSR, that one always seemed like an interesting social experiment to me. Cancel out prevailing status differentials. And I'm not sure at all that it would be beneficial to the psyche of the welders rather than the doctors. Has that been studied?

And if you wished to really carry through the experiment and turn society entirely upside down, shareholders should be made to pay dividend to the corporations, rather than receiving it. Interesting to see what that would do with The Economy.
