Whenever there's classical music on Dutch TV, 9 out of 10 times it just has to be Mahler, whose music happens to bore me out of my skull, and both his "passion" and his "irony" completely escape me. I guess you have to be a cold-blooded Northern Protestant to get it (I was born, or at least baptised, a Protestant myself, but dwelling among corrupted Catholics for too long has probably polluted both my mind and appreciation for music). That other Romantic, Mendelssohn, is ok though.
