2. You are not allowed to edit Sans. Remember, these bases aren't mine. I'm just using them for collabs.
3. You can add and/or change whatever you need to on the OC spot (eyes, hair, gender, etc.)
4. Make sure to give me and the original basemaker credit in your description.

Yeah, they didn't credit like 3 of my collabs. It's no biggy. They're either a troll or really dumb. If they're a troll, then they'll get bored eventually. If they're dumb and don't smarten up quick, then they'll be banned eventually. Just don't go throwing insults at them, because if they're a troll then they're just gonna feed off that. The more you feed them, the longer it'll take for them to leave.

So true, the more you feed the troll, the longer it takes, and I'll be honest, I never credited the base maker on my old account(no it wasn't banned, I lost the password and dA isn't helping, I miss that account so much) but soon enough maybe after a week I smarten my 13 year old ass up and started crediting and took down the bases I used but I got caught by only 1 person(the one who told me to credit or take it down) it didn't take an army.

Yeah. I joined DA back when I was 11 years old and I never credited bases. I just said that they belonged to "whoever made it". Nobody ever caught me or called me out on it. I didn't credit only because I was embarrassed that the base artist would hate what I did. I learned my lesson after some friends of mine got called out for not crediting, so now I always credit.

It depends on what you mean by "THIS"...
If you mean canon X OC bases, then I doubt that's the main reason considering that canon X OC bases exist for nearly every other fandom out there. FNaF, Marvel, MLP, Legend of Zelda, etc. You name it and there's probably a canon X OC base out there. If this is your first time coming across a canon X OC base, then you haven't been exploring on DA long enough.
If you mean the majority's obsession with Sans, then that's probably one of the main contributing reasons. I know I got kinda annoyed with seeing him almost everywhere I went on the internet too. I mean, he's a great character, but in my opinion he's kinda over-hyped.
If you mean me, then bro, I haven't been in the fandom long enough to make everyone hate it just because of me. Heck, I haven't even been in the fandom long enough to even be a contributing factor!XD

I think it's because Sans has a bit of mystery around him that the Sans fangirls seem to be attracted to. After researching the genocide run (because I don't have the heart to go through it myself) I found out that it's suggested that Sans knows about save files and the futility of his actions because it's all going to be reset anyway and such. So it seems like another instance of the fangirls being attracted to tortured souls. He is also funny, and I learned in one of my psychology classes (I think it may have been Psychology of Human Relations) that the more somebody makes you laugh, the stronger a connection you develop with them. My guess is that this can also apply to fictional characters. I'm not bashing Sans or anything. I do like him. He's a good and supportive brother, and clearly a very deep character once you read more into him.
Though it is kinda odd for somebody to want to marry a fictional character, I'd be a hypocrite if I said I was never like that. I mean, I still kinda am like that. Not to the point where I want to marry the character, but to the point where I care very deeply about my favorite characters. The way I see it, most of the fangirls are just children being children. Who am I to judge them for it?XD As long as they aren't hurting anyone and are aware that the characters don't actually exist, then there's no issue.
How far back is back in your day? Because once you've been around 21 years, you've seen enough crud that nothing is really normal anymore.:/
